We had decided for sure, no more fosters. I have gotten way way way too attached to Sunshine Bear so I said, no more. I can't stand getting so attached. It is breaking my heart. Then I got the call... a Dane in need... he just had heartworm treatment... he needs a cool safe place just for a few days after he gets out of the vet... please.... :-*
So here he is, his name is Ivan. I have to keep him separated from my boys, but that's ok with Ivan and Will (who have become best buds very quickly) because Ivan's crate is down in Will's workshop. They are down there right now, a couple of guys hanging out, they are probably drinking beer together and talking about women! ;)
Poor guy looks like he had a home ear-crop by somebody :'( but he is the sweetest guy in the world, full of love!!!

He is going to stay with us just until the weekend, since we are leaving town on Sunday. But we get a few good days to hang out with him! Since he just had heartworm treatment we have to keep him pretty calm, but he sure wants to run around and play!!! He is awesome. More and more I just love the Dane personality!! :D

What a sweetheart!!
One of the danes staying at our house just finished her heartworm treatment. I think she needs one more clean test and she's good to go to get spayed (NOT a fun time when she went into heat last month with their other male dane)
I'm sure he will find a new home no problem. He's gorgeous.

I'm just glad we are leaving town so he HAS TO find a new foster while we are gone. Someone is scheduled to come and pick him up on Friday and we will part ways and I will wish him luck! It's WILL you guys should be concerned about! When I am upstairs I can hear him down in the workshop talking to Ivan in that smoochie voice... "you are such a GOOD BOY Ivan!! Come here you cutie pie! Give me a kiss!!!"...

Danes really are special! They deserve the world, it is so so unfortunate how many of them come up in rescue. :-[ Who knows what this guy has been through but he is so sweet to us, and he has the most innocent eyes I have ever seen.

Ya know, I never did go see that little (newf?) pup Bebe, and she got adopted on Saturday. So they must have already had a great application on her. It just didn't work out for me to drive to Smithville because I was waiting for someone to bring Ivan over!

I have two male dogs, three male cats, three sons and darling husband. I have a daughter but she's living with her boyfriend in San Francisco. While all the boys were home this summer, there was testostrone dripping from the ceiling! You just get used to it! Ivan is home...and if he's neutered, at least he's not really, really male! You could get him a pink collar, call him Ivana and nobody would have to know!

OMG - Rebekah, he's SOOO cute! You HAVE to keep him!!! I have a husband, a male dog, and a male cat. I always say that I only have male pets, b/c I'm the Queen Princess (i.e. B*tch) in my household. No need for another one. ;)

in all fairness, i'm usually the one saying "i don't know..." in regards to new dogs!
Ivan is terribly cute. he's been helping me paint rebekah's sign down in the basement.
I'll hate to see him go, but i know he will find a great human companion to really complement his excellent temperment.

Well, regardless of what happens in the future for Ivan, I let him and Nigel meet briefly today and holy cow they loved each other!!! Nigel looked up to him with big bright eyes like Ivan was some kind of GOD!!! It was hilarious, because then Ivan just gave Nigel a gigantic playful paw to the face!!! :D I can't wait to show Will whan he gets home from work.
