: Pray for my baby Tonka!

This morning I woke up and fed my dogs as usual.  Tonka sifted his around a little ate about half of it and then went on his business, so I gave him a few minutes and then took the food away.  He has seemed somewhat normal all day, playing with the other dogs and then taking a nap on the couch, until a couple of hours ago when I tried to feed him again and he wanted nothing to do with it (usually he acts like he will never eat again!).  I then started noticing he seemed a bit lethargic and even when I would sit on the floor to play he would only come over to plop into my lap.  I decided not to take any chances and even though I might be overreacting I wanted to be safe rather than sorry, so I called the vet and took him in.  At this point he has to stay the night due to a temperature (103 deg) and for tests and IV meds.  I am sooo worried about my little boy and I just want everyone to keep us in your thoughts.  I will hopefully have some good news tomorrow and be able to bring Tonka home.  :'(

Thank you all for all your positive thoughts!  I am going crazy.....the hardest part is just now knowing anything, other than he is sick.  I will definitely keep you all posted as soon as I know anything (tomorrow).  Keep sending us positive thoughts!  :-\

I hope he is ok! It's really good that you took him in as soon as you knew something was wrong. With puppies, you can never be too careful!!!

Well I just spoke with the vet and it turns out that Tonka's biggest ailment was he needed to take a big poop  :D!!  He was constipated (gastrointeriti s...something like that)....anyways he got some medicine to move his bowels and doc said he took a big poo and his fever is broken.  He was also found to be anemic so he comes home today and must stay on antibiotics and an iron supplement.  He will be getting an enema before coming home to help clear his system. (fun day for Tonka!) :-\  I am bringing him home this afternoon!  Thank you for everyones good thoughts, I really appreciate it and it worked!! ;D

WHEW!! Big sigh of relief. I freak out when my monsters don't eat for a day, too. I'm glad everything "came out" alright!

Tonka is finally home  ;D!!  He is doing better, although his poor leg is sore from the IV and so he is limping :-\.  He is on a lot of medicine but is going to be back to 100% in no time at all!

Well, glad to hear Tonka is doing better.  Nothing like a good poop to clear the pipes and change ones disposition.      ::)

 :D Yeah Tonka we are SOOOOO glad you are feeling better; there is nothing sadder than a sick puppy!!
