Thanks Lisa...Ya' know, I think just sharing that I felt crappy helped...I was trying to reply to posts & not be a total bummer in the process & it just wasn't working...Just saying, "I feel like crap" & getting it out there to my friends made me relax some...or maybe it was the stiff drink I made...lol...O r maybe a combo of both! :)

Hi!   Well, I didn't want to leave you hanging with nothing peaceful and relaxing to think about...but unfortunately, "peaceful and relaxing" are NOT in my vocabulary!  I'm  irritated and annoyed every single day!  I think my senses are in overdrive lately because I think everyone's cell phones ring way too loud, and why can't they silence their ringers or answer their phones, instead of letting it run the full course of whatever lame jingle they chose as their ringer.  Anyways, I don't want to come off like a crabby old lady---I'm only 28, but maybe I'm getting old!  Today I was called "Ma'am" FOUR times!  Yup...4 times! BTW, "Ma'am" is code-word for "old hag". And to make things worse, today when I got home I noticed that I had more wrinkles around my eyes than I did the last time I inspected my face.  But wait!  Thats not all... not only do I have wrinkles (and no, they are not laugh lines) but I also have three big zits!  What a cruel world we live in....wrinkles AND pimples!  Well, I'll send this part and then continue writing about my attempt to give roxy a bath yesterday...in our driveway...... what a joke!

Sorry RoxyPoxy, but I had to laugh at your story.  I'm also 28, and know exactly what you are going through.   ;)

Oh Gyps - total pms'ing...me too but I am crying at all the commercials and the Oprah show....I have been sitting here drinking hot toddy;s - hoping to cure my bronchitis...s o far I am feeling no pain.  So drink on and tomarrow will be better - I hope.

As for the young'uns worried about the Ma'am - you will get use to it...In another 10 yrs or so you will be thankful they aren't calling you Granny....it's just how it goes.  I live in Vegas - everything is very young here and I have now passed the point of now having to wait in line to get into a club.  !) yrs ago - I could have just walked right in...its hard but it is all part of the circle of life - At least that is what I keep tring to tell myself that!!!  - CAN SOMEONE PLEASE PASS THE BOTOX!!!! 8)

"Ma'am" is code-word for "old hag".
Not in the South.  I am in my 40's and I say Ma'am to any one over 20.  I don't get upset about many thing but to have a kid say yes and not yes Ma'am to me makes me crazy.  I think it is a very nice way to  show of respect to others.

Lisa - I forgot about the Ma'am thing in the South.  You are right about the politness thing... but when your not use to hearing it - it can be a little shocking at 1st

Tina - lol I still get carded but in Vegas they card everyone.  I had missed placed my license and last week wanted to meet some friends at this bar we go to frequently.  I know the bouncer - he know I am way over 21 and old enought to be his big sister at the very least.  He would not let me in - I was shocked!!!  No license - no drink...Then went across the street to this other place where we hang - I know the owner.  The door guy cards me....lol - He was a little guy so I just breezed past him - told him "I eat here all the time - never have had a problem before" and went in....lol he was a little shocked.

I guess it is just not shocking here because when you are small you even say yes Ma'am to your teen babysitter.

I grew up in southerne california in the 70's and 80's.  Everything was very bohemian then.  I remember some of my frineds calling their parents by their 1st names.  So Ma'am was not something you ever heard.  As it is now - my kids friends always just call me Timmie - no Ma'am or Mrs
