Just in case anyone notices I'm not posting quite as much, I start a job today...I have been home with the kids since they were born except for some temp. work during the holidays a couple of years...Anyway, I took a part time job at the McDonalds in our small town...I can work around the kids' school hours because I have never used sitters...I hardly slept last night because I am stressed out about keeping up...I will probably do fine but it's been SO long since I had a "real job"...lol...Keep your fingers crossed for me guys!...I am not the most social person & have a hard time being nice to people that are not nice to me...I will try deep breaths instead of telling someone to kiss my butt that really needs to hear it...lol...& I HATE leaving Samson & Pippin...BIG TIME!!!...K...got to run...I need to get the kids to the bus & come home & get ready for work...Catch you all later! :)

Good luck, Chelle. You'll do fine. Working is like riding a bike, in no time at all you'll be right back in the swing of things. And just think of all the puppy kisses that you'll get when you come home...

Congratulation s and good luck! I am so glad that Sammy and Pippin each other to play with while you are at work. I am sure they will just sleep the day away and save all there enegry for you and the kids. Have a good day. We are going to miss your post during the day. :(

Congrats, Chelle! Working with people will be good for you. It will help you learn restraint. Of course some people need to be told to kiss butts, but its so good for you to just be able to let that sorta thing roll down your back, too. You're going to do fine, and Sammy and Pippin will have each other to cuddle and play with during the day!

That's great! I worked at Mcdonalds my senior year of highschool. It was a lot of fun because some of my friends worked there too. My manager was younger then me. How that happened I don't know. She was such a b**ch. It went to her head. Just a warning that it can happen with you. Good luck! ;D

Well, having worked at Burger King for 8 years previously, I can tell you I sooooo much preferred working in the back to working up front with the customers. I was constantly told to smile and some people are just too stupid to smile to.
Plus, in the back you can sneak some food and make fun of all the customers w/o them knowing (most of the time) ;D

Good luck and have fun!! I would get fired for sure! I have this subconscious habit of "accidentally" dropping, flinging, tossing, lobbing food onto the floor. I'm not to sure where or when I picked up this "trait," but I'm pretty sure Roxy had something to do with it! Even if I didn't drop the food, I would definitely try to swipe a hamburger patty into my pocket to take home for you-know-who! Roxy is more of an In-N-Out burger girl, but McD's is just as good!
I can only imagine the kind of welcome home greeting you'll get from Samson and Pippin when you get home! I hope you can concentrate on your work today, I know all I ever think about is Roxy...I'm finally realizing that I think I have a problem... I think about my Roxy way too much!

WOW!...Thanks guys!!...Today went really well...I only had a couple of mildly rude customers & found it is great fun to smile at them really really big & be extra sweet & polite becaue it really seems to tick them off even more! :D I caught on pretty quickly so that was cool...In another 6 months to a year I hope to move on to soemthing else but I wanted something to ease me back into the work force...I'm not sure what i wanna be when Igrow up yet...lol...bu t I'll keep trying to find out. ;D Free food?...NOT!...20 minutes before & after your shift you can get 1/2 off of up to $6.50 in food...Thankfu lly I am SO burned out on McDonalds because of the kids that this is not an issue for me...lol...Sam son & Pippin were extra happy to see me today!...That is the longest I have ever left them alone...I could not wait to get back to them...I swear I thought about running people down who were crossing the street to get back to them!...They were good boys!...No accidents & nothing chewed up...I am proud of them!...I was a bit worried about Pippin as before he came here he was only in the house for 1 week...Until almsot 5 months old he was out with the goats...We only had 1 accident here from him ever but I was kind of wondering if it was because I was always with him & let him out so many times a day...Nope...h e's a good boy!!! ;D K...got to run...Do you all know that just because you go to work the housework STILL needs to be done? :-\...lol!

Well I'm so glad you had a good first day!! I've always been a chipper person so I learned with rude people the BEST way to deal with them is to "kill 'em with kindness". I really get a kick out of it! I think it makes them more mad, but it's just because they're not a happy person to begin with. And I'm sure you'll deal with more kind people than rude ones anyway. As for the 1/2 off on food, THAT'S CRAPPY!! I'm always up for FREE food. lol I've heard people that work in fast food restaurants hardly ever eat the food they make, and I think that's funny. Good Luck on your second day of work! It sounds like you're a fast learner so you'll be in a routine in no time!

This is sort of true. When I worked at BK, I always made my own food (and invented a few new sandwiches along the way) and got it for free most of the time b/c I'm a sweet talker........ ......lol. But after quitting there several years ago, I can't stomach eating there anymore. Eight years of BK food is about all I can stand. Plus the fact that no one can make as good a sandwich as I can. ;D I mean seriously, how hard is it to get the pickles in the middle of the sandwich (among other things)? ???

Well, msot of the housework has to wait...I am still busy & that is just with the kid & animal care that has to be done...I already called my hubby & said "The house will not be clean when you come in off of the road tomorrow & you better not even look twice at the dirt"!...lol...He agreed immediatly because he knows how I am when I am in a snit...lol...I should do something with dogs or some kind of animals...I've done TONS of research on cats, dogs, bunnies, guinea pigs...Saves me a ton in vet bills as preventative medicine...My youngest brother just told me Sunday night that I know more about animals than anyone he knows...That made me feel good! :)

I'm glad your first day went well. Try a sausage, egg & cheese on a bagel. I get the combo because I love the hashbrowns. :) When I worked at Mcdonalds I ate the food and then couldn't eat it for years after that. I can eat it now. The cheeseburgers are my all time favorite along with the fries. MMM now I'm hungry.

Tony thought he'd be sweet today and bring home McDonald's for lunch, he bought my favorite Big Mac Meal, but stupid Andi ate all the fries first and couldn't finish the Big Mac. :'(

Great start to a new career!! I'm so glad that it went well and the pups behaved! The worst part is over .... the first step! Sometimes it IS good to talk to adult humans, if only to realize how good it is to get home ;)!

How wonderful! Enjoy your job. It's greating out and having brief conversations with adult. What was it that Michael Keeton said, something about that you know you're in trouble when you spend a good part of your day watching Sesame Street and start to like it...well, you know I mean.
Keep us posted on the McD sampling, and all else with Pippin. He's not going to wear that pink dress for Halloween is he? ;)

I stayed home for three months when I had my daughter, who is now 11. I thought I would lose my mind! My house was spotless, meals were on the table in a timely manner, laundry done and the yard was cut and pruned within an inch of it's life; AND I HAD NO ONE TO TALK TO!! Everyone in my nieghborhood worked and I was starved for adult conversation. I haven't taken more than a two week vacation off since then, and I like my kids, husband and messy house a whole lot better! LOL. I am missing the Domestic Goddess Gene in my DNA, I think.

It is great to get out & talk to adults!...I did get a bit discouraged today but told myself that I have to go to work because need to educate people on DOGS!...lol...One girl told me that all dog food is the same & one wanted "a wolf or a wolf Husky mix"...Surprisingl y I did not snap but was friendly in my advise...Obvio usly God was guiding me!!!...& no, Pippin has grown out of the pink dress already...lol. ..He & Sam are going to be sheep for Halloween & my son & daughter are going to be a shepard & Littel Bo Peep..Oh yes there will be pics! ;D
