: Morning Routine
: greek4 October 17, 2005, 10:42:43 PM
I thought it would be cool to know everyones morning routine, maybe I will steal some ideas and incorporate some of everyones working ideas into my semi functional routine.

Rocco and Maia's Morning Routine

We get up at 5:45 am  :-[ and I get the dogs food ready, as they eat I got to the bathroom, drink some juice get sock, shoes, and a sweatshirt on.   After eating we leash up and head for a 20 minute stroll, to induce as many excretions as possible.  I can usually get two pees and one poop  :D between them.  After the walk the dogs go lay on the bed while I shower and get dressed.  Then they follow me around as I fix me some breakfast to go and my lunch for the day.  The a treat, bone, and toy all go into their cages with them.  To hear about our wonderful evening routine someone will need to start and Evening Routine topic.

This routine works for now but I hope to soon be able to induce 2 pees and 2 poops total since that would be more normal and that is what was produced when I would just let them out every morning.  Plus it is getting cold soon and I don't know how long I can walk around trying to induce poo in the cold Chicago wind.  I want to eventually be able to just take them out, they go, then we can go back inside.

Cool topic.  I think my routine is like yours.  Minus breakfast and lunch fixing.  :)
we start out when Grace starts whinning to get us up around 5:30am.  I run downstairs and let the girls out for a quick run and pee.  he get hugs and kisses. Breakfast is next.  (hugs and kisses) Then immediately Grace wants to poo poo. So we go out and run around again. Lady poo poo's.  We come in and get Daddy out of bed.  (hugs and kisses) Daddy gets up and we rough house with him while Mommy's in the shower.  Grace sits outside the door and waits.  We help mommy dress and do her hair.  we go out and run around again.  we come in and get hugs and kisses.  till mommy and daddy have to leave.  We get bones and go to bed.

Depends on which house.

I'm redoing this because I wasn't feeling good this morning so it was crappy.  This was Friday.

City house.  Boys wake me up at 5:30.  I decide I hate dogs, and throw things at them.  Hobo starts to cry.  I feel bad and let them out.  I stand on the porch and watch them then check to make sure I have clothes on.  I go inside and put pants on.  Start to make Matt's coffee.  Go out and start his car.  Throw things at him to wake him up.  Doesn't work.  Jump in bed and put cold wet toes against his roasty toasty back.  Yay he's up!  He's always cranky when he wakes up.  I feed Princess Araby, then let the boys in and feed them.  Go back to sleep. Wake up at 8ish.  Let all the dogs out, make toast.  Putter out to yell for dogs to stop killing each other.  Run away from dogs trying to eat my toast.  Dogs follow me inside and sit on top of each other waiting for me to get out of the bathroom.  Phone rings.  Matt needs his PIN number to get coffee.  "What's wrong with the coffee I made you?"  "Well I need Dunking Donuts coffee now."  "But my coffee was FREE."  "And it tasted free too."  I tell him the wrong PIN number and hang up.  Start to watch Becker on TV.  Matt calls back "OMG WE HAVE NO MONEY!  It won't go through!"  I give him the right PIN and hang up.  He calls back.  "I hate you and your free coffee."

Today.  Boonie house.  Grandmother yells "ANGELA CHRISTINE!  TELEPHONE!"  It is the hospital.  They want me to go to my tilt test at 10.  It is 8:30 and I live an hour away.  I tell them where they can put their stress test and go downstairs.  Sanity knocks me over half way down and I go the rest of the way on my bum.  "Good afternoon."  (Old people think anything after the crack of dawn is afternoon.  They are insinuating I am lazy.  The is very tedious after a while.)  I mumble something I think is a greeting, and drag Sanity's head out of the dog food bag.  "Did you make your bed?"  No I did not make my bed, you're lucky that I have bladder control this early in the morning.  Speaking of which I have to use the bathroom.  Drag Sanity's head out of the toilet.  Pray to GOD that it was flushed.  Put him outside and leave the door open so he can come back in.  Do my thang and open bathroom door.  Trip over Sanity.   Fall asleep on the floor.  Wake up to horrendous grinding noise.  Drag Sanity's head out of dog food bag.  Scoop remaining dog food into bowl and fill water dish.  Water is white with slobber.  Empty and fill.  Repeat.  Eight times.  "Angela Christine did you make the bed?"  I hate the bed.  I resolve to burn it first chance I get.  Make breakfast.  Am reminded that I can't eat because of my test.  Curse the test.  Give breakfast to Nee.  Am yelled at for wasting food when I could have put it in the fridge and microwaved it for later.  Yes Scrambled eggs and ketchup and dry white toast is SOOO nummy re heated.  Go on BPO and procrastinate getting ready.  Make my bed.  Go back to BPO.  Make my bed THE RIGHT way.  Return to BPO.  See the time.  Curse.  Go back to BPO.  See the time.  Curse louder.  Brush teeth, shave and deoderize armpits.  Dress.  Kiss Nee. Go out front door.  Forgot money for tolls.  Try to sneak in house.  Am caught by Nee who now will not let me get more than 4 inches in front of him.  Throw a cookie one way and run the other.  Escape.  End of morning.

Morning Routine.

Buzzzz, Buzzzz, Buzzzz. !#@#$% its 5:00 am already! Where's the dog, are the kids awake, what time is it again? WHERE AM I? Oh, thats right I got to take Angus out before he poops in the kitchen, or the porch, or the hall (actually he is doing excellent with his potty training). Angus eagerly waits for me at the bottom of the steps. Half asleep we venture outside. It's still dark out and I can't see where I'm stepping, I hope I don't step in any..... DAMN! That's where that poop was. After Angus does his business then visits every water collection device in the front and back yard we head back in. I go back to bed for just 10 minutes. #$@%$##@ it's 7:45 am, I'm late for work!! Aaron has to get to school by 8:30am so it's off to the races for my wife and I. Here we go again - convince the kids to get up and get dressed, wash, cook breakfast for everyone, get lunch ready, feed the baby, feed the dog, feed the cat... ANGUS leave the cat alone..... Then pile everyone into the van. We have to drive Aaron to school, Alyssia to daycare and me to work. Are we all in!! Here we go! Whoops, someone run back in and get the BABY!! Alright lets go. Aaron gets to school on time, I get to work ½ hour late and Alyssia gets to daycare whenever we get her there, Anita and the baby make it back home just in time to bring Angus outside for another quick walk!!

This is not every morning but has been the last 2!!

Wake up at 5am, let the dogs out, grab a cup of coffee. Hope that the ground is dry so I don't have to wipe off 12 paws. Put some kibble in a bowl in case anyone is hungry. Do some house chores, get dressed & out to the barn by 6. Tack up & out on the trail by 6:20, weather & daylight permitting. Back from riding around 7am do chores quickly & get in the shower by 7:30 leave for work by 7:50 or risk being late, if on the bike can leave by 8, ride in the HOV lane YEAH!. Punch the clock by 8:30 & wait for 5pm.

Whew! I'm glad I'm not the only one who is tripping all over everyone in the morning. Here's mine:

TV comes on at 6:00, I snooze and listen 'til 6:30 when Rocko starts pawing at my arm to get up or Mia is jumping on the bed). I pull on some shorts or pants and a t-shirt and let everyone out to do their morning bizness. Rocko goes running off looking for his frisbee and barking at me to throw it. Mia and Oasis go wandering off in different directions. I yell at Oasis to come back 'cause in the morning light I forget he can't hear anymore. I put Rocko and Mia back inside and go back out with a leash to get Oasis. (yeah, it would be easier to leash him to begin with but I don't think clearly in the morning).

I fill up the dogs' water dish, make coffee and go into the bathroom where Luna (the cat) is sitting on the sink staring at me and meowing until I fill her special water cup.

I take a shower while Mia and Rocko lie on the bathroom floor in case anything comes to attack me while I'm naked. Eat breakfast and drink my coffee while watching the news.

Do my hair and makeup, get dressed, de-fur whatever I'm wearing with the lint brush. Grab this and that, fill water bowl again, give everyone pets and tell them to be good, de-fur again with lint brush, try to get out of door without everyone escaping.

Get to work at 9:00, de-fur with lint brush I keep at work and log onto BPO.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who leaves the tv on for my kids :)

LOL I know it is funny, but they do watch TV. The other day when I was watching animal planet, they had a close up of a dog and Dilbert ran right up to the TV and sat if front of it and put his paw on the screen. It was the cutest thing I've ever seen.

Get up around 7. Must let Farley out with in seconds of getting up or he will pee on the floor. Puck saunters to the back patio door to join Farley outside. Yell at Farley to pee on the grass-that peeing on the deck is neither  appropriate nor acceptable ::) Get dressed for the gym or shower depending on the day. Retrieve Farley from inside the netted trampoline  for the millionth time that week. Avoid the piles of poop in the backyard.Where is that pooperscooper person...oh yeah that would be me! Let dogs back in. Wipe feet, make a sorted attempt to wipe feet.Retreive stolen objects from Farley.
Tell Puck to go kissy kissy Lexi--that's how he wakes her up in the morning. Farley follows behind pouncing on my daughters head or any body part. Go in to daughter give hugs and kises to whatever booboo spot Farley had caused his time ::)  Retrive from Farley whatever his has stolen from the counter etc.Make breakfast for my daughter run fast and close door so Farley doesen't eat her breakfast. Making two breakfasts in one mOrning can be timE consuming.  Retrieve object from Farley again.Feed dogs yell at Puck for eating Farleys food and yell at Farley for eating Pucks food. Retrieve yet another object from Farley.Get my daughter dressed for school. Delint her from dog hair and more dog hair on navy uniform. Retrieve object again from Farley. Clean up Farleys stash at the patio door...usually consists of  a few pairs of underwaer, at least one bra, hanger, toliet paper and  anything elese he has stolen that morning. Get daughter out the door for school. Unlock door go back and put Farley in his kennel--good god I hate to imagine if I left him out :o. Take daughter to school. Go to gym....

wow, some of you guys get up really early.

Alarm goes off at approx 7:12 (battery operated clock w/not even 10 min marks), go to bathroom to relieve self.  Weigh self and curse at scale.  Get dressed.  Watch Gunther be silly growling with toy in mouth trying to get you to play with him.  Go back to bathroom to put in contacts/wash face/brush teeth and hair.  Let dogs out.  Open curtains in living room/kitchen.  Turn on computer.  Get water bottle and pop tart and put by keys.  Let dogs back in house.  Give Keiko her pills and treat both (Gunther gets a freebie).

Go on computer for about 10-15 minutes before leaving the house.  Go to dog park from 8-9:30.  Eat pop tart and drink water on the way.  Drive down to beach boardwalk and walk dogs.  Go home and sit on computer for several hours, remembering to stop and feed the dogs b/t 11-12.

Schedule changes depending on how many and if I have any jobs in the morning.  If I have 1 or 2 morning jobs, dogs come with and sit in the car until I am done and then we go to the park for a shorter period of time, and maybe no walk (try to be home by 11).  If more than 2 jobs, dogs don't come with (gets too hot in car) and I will walk them later.

Ah mornings...so much to do when you get up.  ;) Alarm goes off at 5:oo, I hit the snooze and wait until it comes back on and 5:10 then roll out of bed and on to the ground to love on Bear in the early morning, hit snooze again and wait until it goes off at 5:20 to actually get up. I go potty then put on a jacket and take Bear on a 15 minute potty walk. Make him breakfast while I jump in the shower. Wake hubby up as I get dressed and intermittently play with Bear. Take Bear out again, come inside, say goodbye, kiss hubby and it is off to work at 6:45.

7:00 a.m. open my classroom and kids start coming in for early morning extra help. Kids eat breakfast in the room at 7:45-8:00. Clean up and being hte day with 27 4th graders!  ;D

My morning isn't nearly as entertaining as some of yours  :P

alarm goes off. snooze, snooze, snooze. Zoey hears that my three snoozes are up and whines or licks me until i get up. potty and brush teeth while zoey sits at the top of the stairs. put on coat and leash and go outside. zoey pees. tell zoey to go poop instead of staring at construction workers across the street and/or cars. am unsuccsessful. Say the word breakfast and she runs for the door. fill water bowl. scoop out food and top with chewable glucosamine tablet and a sprinkle of omega3 oil. Watch the weather channel while zoey eats. Put zoey's leash back on, and go back out. This time she does her buisness. Go inside. Zoey stands at bottom of stairs until I get her ice cube, and runs up to bedroom when she hears me getting it. Put zoey in bedroom. Shower, put hair up in a bun, and get dressed. take zoey on a walk if there is time and the construction workers arent in the way (they are working on my street right now). Put Zoey back in bedroom with a still sleeping dan. Kiss them both goodbye. Take the 'secret stairs' out of the bedroom so zoey doesn't follow me. Toast english muffin if I am lucky (will have a granola bar at snack time if there's no time). Remember to pack lunch so I don't have to eat a kid cafeteria lunch (yuck). Hop in truck. Beat kids to school.

Wake up at 6:00-6:05 am, lol yes I refuse to get up for another 5 minutes!
I find my clothes, go in the bathroom, pee, brush my teeth, get dressed, put my hair up, take the mojos into the backyard, fix them breakfast, get Maggie's breakfast, bring mojos in and put them their crates to eat, feed Squishy, water Squishy, feed birds, water birds, put birds back in their cages, grab my books and leave for school. No Maggie doesn't go out in the morning because she's to lazy to get up so she waits till 8 am when my mom gets up.

I hate morning routines.... I'm usually a postive person, very optimistic about things, but mornings are a bad bad thing?  Can ya tell I'm not a morning person? LOL

Tony wakes up after hitting his snooze 10 billion times.  I'm dead to the world so don't really hear it.  He gets up and rushes through the house cursing cause he's always late.  Yells at me and my daughter to get up before he SLAMS the door.  He then decides to get in his truck and for some reason has to rev it up 5 or 6 times before he decides to tear down the street at 100mph. ::)  My daughter gets up, turns on Spongebob and I get up and slowly, and I mean slowly get into the shower, mumbling horrible negative things.  Once I get into the shower I feel I don't want to get out so I spend way to much time in there.... it's so dang warm!!  Finally get out, get breakfast for Kenna do my hair and makeup while Kenna's giving me attitude.  (Dogs are sleeping the whole time, they're so lucky!)  Drive Kenna to school, come back home let the dogs out of their kennels.  Koby decides he needs to do a ba-gillion zoomies around the house while Ramsey is ducking and running in fear.  Koby then decides to slide into walls, run into doors, and knock over plants, he then likes to slide on the kitchen floor and run into our back door telling me it's time to go outside! Let the dogs outside so Koby can do his crazy circle zoomies and once again Ramsey runs for cover.  After 20 min outside bring them in and put their food down for them while Koby glances at his food then stares at me, "Ma where's the bacon and eggs, and I want toast too!?"::)  Grab a soda out of the fridge (Yes I'm a total caffiene addict!)  Run to my office and get on BPO, then remind myself I'm supposed to be working but still decide to check out BPO first. LOL ;D

My weekend morning routine is a little different.... you guessed it, I get to sleep in!!

Ah ... I see Tony and Brandon went to the same driver's ed school.  Whats up with that???

LMAO!!!!  I'd really like to know what's up with that, I just don't get it.  He doesn't NEED to wake up the neighbors and yet he graces them with his special revving skills every morning!!  Then he peels out leaving skid marks all over our street.....I think he pretends he's a race car driver, but WHY he needs to do this stuff every morning is beyond me!

Well..My mornings are: Wake up, snooze the first time...snooze again..and again ..and again...when I finally realized I've been dreaming that I woke up already I sit on the bed and start hugging and kissing Sasha..then Gordo comes trying to get some more hughs and kisses too. Open the door...and here they go...Grab some coffee.. Gordo comes back and check the leftovers...th en leave some chicken broth to drink during the morning. I drink my coffee while Sasha is already chasing me...to the bathroom, the bedroom, back in the kitchen. Gordo ate the leftovers...No w I put fresh water for both...then grab more bacon treats...and get ready to leave. In the meantime I tried to wake my husband like 10 times, but Sasha did me a favor already...she jumps back in the bed again and finally she woke him up.. Now more hughs and play...She watches me trying 5 different blouses or pants. Put some makeup and do my hair....Then my cell phone rings...someon e is looking for me already from the office..so I say bye to everybody like 5 times. Check the AC temp, make sure they have toys around and then kiss each of my dogs (including my husband?  :P ) on the head and leave to work...As soon as I get into my office...I call my husband at work...(he's the last one to leave) ...Are they inside? did you set the alarm? You didn't turn off the AC..did you? ok...are you coming at lunch time..right? ok..call me if you have any problem..ok?
Basically..tha t's the same every day...(isn't it enough?) and that's only a part of the story...then we have the afternoon and night routines...but If we have to write everything...w e end up writing dozens of pages!!!

haha, i love thiS post!  fumble usually starts to bark at about 645 to go out.  I usually bundle up, and he stares at me while i am.  poor thing doesn't quite understand that some of us actually get cold! it's a fur thing! hehe. then i usually let him out to go pees and poops.  Then we come back in, and he runs around the house like a the duracell commercial, and then i give him water, and he barks at me for breakfast.  I get it ready, because he's still a puppy, i have to moisten the food, and get his vitamins ready!  then he will bark at the counter, and sometimes will move his food dish over to use it as a step!  he's too smart! then while he eats, i check my email and make a green tea.. he comes over, barks at me, and i walk back out to the porch wondering why i even took off the jacket... let him out, and usually he decides to grab the leash, and take me for a walk!  I try to take him for a little walk, but he usually ends up getting off our property line, and sits, refusing to get up! he must be territorial! then he most likely will come back in the house and get into some type of trouble!  that's the usual routine right now!  (i'm a recent college grad who just got done with her summer camp counseling job, and on the job search, so no real getting ready yet! it should be interesting when i have to bring that into the routine!  ::))
