What's really incredible is that only 700 dogs were put to sleep last year in Tokyo! In our small town of only 50,000 our shelter put over 7,000 dogs and cats to sleep last year!

I freaked out when I first saw the picture and thought OMG what did they do to that poor dog!!  But then when I read the caption I was so relieved :)  I'm glad that his popularity is helping rescue other dogs.
