Luke's nose is black, but the surrounding skin has some pink and white splotches. He's out in the sun almost everyday(san diego sun), sometimes all day when we're working on the yard. Is regular sunblock ok to use on his nose? Is there anything specifically for dogs that I can get to protect his skin? It's just that small area but it's such a sensitive one.

Prevent sunburn?? Move here. LOL
Im not sure what yu can do but the first thing I thought was if they were here they wouldnt have that problem. I cant wait to see the summer sun again. :'(

Northern Ontario? I see your point. ;D
How far north? We're headed in that direction this July....but only as far as Barry's Bay(to see family). It will be so nice to take the dogs to a place where they aren't banned or confined!!! :D

Most sunblocks designed for children should also be safe on dogs. But, they do also have sunscreen specially designed for dogs. Doggles makes one: http://store.yahoo.com/doggles/petsunscreen.html
