The time has finally come for Bear to earn his keep ;D and do some real work in this world. Hehehe....we're off to a convalescent home to visit with some elderly folks. I'm nervous!! Michael is finishing grooming Bear and when we get back I'll share the news with you. I hope it goes well! :)
-
That is AWESOME!!! Way to go, Bear! Make us all proud!!! :D

Yay Bear! I'm sure it will be great! :)

WOW - have fun (and) I'm sure Bear will do great! He'll get lots of hugs, that's for sure! ;) Let us know!

We are back and things went great! Bear was soooooo good and earned so jerky afterwards. ;) My heart is so happy too because Bear brightened so many peoples' day. One lady had not even been out of her room for 2 days but because a big fluffy dog was there to see her, she came out and was all smiles. She is the lady in the yellow sweater. ;D
Here are some pics from our big day! Enjoy!

I get a lot of laughs and smiles from the posts on this board...but your post ...about the lady in the yellow sweater....... that choked me up and brought happy tears to my eyes. Good job Bear....good job.
I hope you'll continue to post pictures of these visits.
It may inspire me to do similiar work when I'm able. It looks like you had a wonderful visit.

What a beautiful boy!!! Mike will be starting Therapy school this spring...I can't wait to share him with others. I deal with ederly patients, mentally challenged patients, etc every day at work and I can't wait to have something to brighten their days.
-
Ohh he's soo cute and such a good boy. I wish we could do that with Kali but she's weird around sick people. But bear looks like he loves the attention.
-
YAY for Bear! That's so awesome. See? Our Big Paws don't just bring smiles and joy to us everyday - they bring it to everyone!
Aw, I'm so happy for Bear! We were thinking of doing this with Kate too (once she's a bit older, and pending she does well in obedience of course)!
Bless your hearts guys, you (and most of all Bear) made a difference in someone's life today! ;)

Great stuff. Glad to here that Bear is using his powers for good. Angus is being pulled to the dark side!! It will be awhile before he's capable of greeting strangers, young and old.

Great Pictures! Can't blame the lady in the yellow sweater, I'd come out too for a star like bear :)

Way to go Bear! Great job you guys! You probably made many people's day! That is wonderful! Maddie and Klondike have a few more classes & then they go for their Pet Therapy test too. We hope that they will pass and then we are visiting our friend's son Mike's school. It is a school for Special Needs kids and they are pretty much lined up for Spring visits! I hope they pass the test! Klondike is pretty laid back but, Maddie isn't always a huge fan of strange noises. We shall see!
Keep up the Great work, Jaime, Michael and Bear!

Those pictures totally choked me up... Bear did such a great job, and we are all so proud of him. How wonderful of you to share him with people who need his love...

Awww way to go Bear, it just goes to show how special our big dogs really are, and how much they have to give. It so easy to see how it made everyones day to see him, and I'm cure they are all thinking "I wonder when he will be back?" ;D

Yeah Bear! Bo is a therapy dog, too! She works with me at my job as a psychotherapis t. She works mainly with adults with severe mental illness, but we're about to start doing group therapy for kids with Autism. It's a nice perk to be able to take her to work with me! We used to work with a boy with Cerebral Palsy and he kept a photo of Bo by his bed.
