Hi Everyone!

I also posted on the general board, I am new to BPO. My family and I are looking to add a great dane to our family in the fall of this year.

I would love to hear any breeder recommendation s (or warnings) in the New England area. I do have a recc. from the GDCA but would love some personal reccs. from the pros here. We are intersted in a merle or harlequin and would consider the right rescue.

I dont have any advice but I would like to welcome you to BPO and wish you luck in finding a Dane in your area!

Welcome to BPO!! Where in Connecticut are you?  I'm in Preston, CT (near the casinos).

 For breeder advice or rescue, I would ask Ang....her name on the board is Anky...she has been involved in rescue and knows who to watch out for as far as breeders. I can forward you the advice she gave me for our trainer who's also looking for a dane.  Also you could try Petfinder.com.

I did recieve your PM, thanks for the heads up and the info.

My name is Cara and we live in Cheshire (New Haven area). I am a petfinder addict already so I do check regularly. I also requested an application at our local Great Dane rescue. I am still unsure about breeder vs. rescue, we still have to fence in the yard as I'm seeing this is pretty much a requirement and get through the summer things we have planned that wouldn't be pet-friendly.
