Hello! I hope this doesn't sound too creepy, but I have been lurking on here for awhile now. I have been enjoying all the fun discussions & the darling photos & videos! I have been feeling a little guilty reading & not chiming in.....It's like I'm eavesdropping, or something! :o I hope you all will accept my apology. :-[
I finally decided to come out of Lurksville & introduce myself...I'm Amy Lynn from Oregon! My husband, John & I have 5 little girls that we homeschool & a Chessie mix, who is 9 years old! We are very soon going to be adding a Newfie to our family. We are so excited to soon be able to share our lives with another Newfie! :D Our hearts belong to this breed! It is so true that once you have owned a Newfie, you never want to be without one!
I have been talking with a wonderful breeder, who has 2 gorgeousmale Newfoundlands that she is going to place. She kept them to show & for possible breeding & they both ended up with only 1 testicle. :-X So...now she is unable to show them. It will be a couple more months before We will be able to bring one of them home. That is going to seem like a LONG wait, but will be worth it! These guys are older puppies. They are 8 months old! I just don't know how to choose. They are both too sweet! Too bad we can't take them both. :( I would love to post a photo to get others thoughts on them, but I'm not sure how. ??? I am technochalleng ed. :-[

My name is Denise and I live in Beaverton. I am owned by Dakota, a neutered 4 year old Newf/Lab mix, Jade is a 1-1/2 year old spayed female Leonberger and Nani, a 5 month old female Leonberger show puppy.

Welcome to BPO! Wow are those two cuties! :) I'm Jessica and my husband and I share our home with two newfie girls, Sasha (a little over one year) and Bella (just over 5 months) and a grumpy kitty (who wonders why we have all these doggies ::) ). Welcome! :)

We meet at a dog park in Lake Oswego once a month with local Leonberger owners, if you like I can let you know the next time we meet. We have a great time and you would be more than welcome.

I am sure that both of the newfie boys you are looking at are wonderful. I can't give any advice based on looks; if I were you I would visit them, play with them,and go with my heart to see which of them was meant to go home with you. I am sure you will be happy no matter which you choose! :)

Hey Amy!! Welcome! I'm owned by two Newfs, a Landseer, Cowboy (3 years old) and Chester, my brown one year old. I think the pup with the white is called an Irish spotted (aka Landseer wanna-be! ;D ;D ;D). I'd take both too, if I could! I guess you just need to go spend time with both and see which one grabs your heart and won't let go! There's just nothing better than a Newfer-baby!!!

I'm Sheryl, the sad, currently dogless, dog--friendly LA apartment hunting one around here. I have to hang out and cyber love everyone else's babies, because I can't have my own right now.
Why can't you have them both?? You have more than enough cute little girls to help train them--just one would get awful spoiled with all those little girls loving on him. And even as big as Newfie's are, there's just no WAY all of them can pet him together, and it will cause wailing and gnashing of teeth.
You definitely need them both. For you children's sake. ;D
