I'm gonin go wit she is probably still groggy so they'll keep her overnight where their staff can do the night checks. They called when hey said they would so I don't think you should be to worried. Kali and I add our best to Sadie's speedy return to being a thorn in her Mommy's side.
Try and enjoy your night Shawna, she'll forgive you eventually.

I'm not positive but I believe you guys said the Fumb's B-Day was 7/12. Please confirm so we can begin the countdown. Also we need to solidify some plans for another get together. At the very least the NE Newf Pack, but it would be great to get some other BPO'ers to join in the fun again also I am hoping we will be hosting it here in CT. Tim & Kali

I havn't had any problems with the asking to approach Kali, however I have found Kali tends to be leary of certain strangers, so I ask for anyone approaching us to stop a few feet short while Kali is in a sit. Then allow her to close the remaining distance and initiate contact herself, this approach has worked great for us.
On a venting note, i was at the clinic (Our vet is Kali's Aunty) last week and as I came out of the pharmacy into the waiting room a lady wih a young lab puppy and two young children, picked up her puppy and made a comment that the big black dog was going to attack her puppy.
First Kali didn't even notice the puppy otherwise she would have wanted to go visit, second if your really concerned shouldn't you make sure your kids are safe before you worry about the puppy. Well I couldn't ignore her, I stopped dead and called her on her ignorance and preceeded to lecture her on her ignorance. About the time I finished a client who had met Kali early chimed in with the fact, Kali like nearly all other large dogs was an aloof gently giant. I took that as my que to exit.

We have access to a gunite pool now as we mentioned before, we also have a couple really good lakes, and if anyone is willing to go for a ride and then a hike (emphasis on hike) a great beach on Long Island Sound. I just don't understand these Newfs they'll play in the water all day but we ask them to go in over their heads and it becomes "no way you can't make me!"

Welcome to BPO, you really did find a great site, one that you will discover is filled with Newfs including the creators' newf Bear.

Newflvr and Barkleysmum should put to rest your largest concern about Penelope bonding with your family. I don't believe your going to have any real problems with potty training as long as you're realistic. You will need to treat her as a puppy in this respect and all you can do is follow the advice above and be patient.
I think the bonding is the most important, for me I include Kali in everything I can, she comes with me to bid jobs, we go out of our way to frequent dog friendly businesses (difficult in CT), and we frequently go on doggy day trips the most memorable being the one at the following link. http://www.bigpawsonly.com/index.php/topic,10089.msg125008.html#msg125008

Quick question, where do you guys live?

Enjoy your new girl and give her hugs and drools from all of us here at BPO.

Tim and Kali

Duncan and Lady bear look like they had a blast. The kids should have known once the bears arrived that they were no longer allowed to fish. All water rights automatically go to the Newfs.

Max and Sam both look great in their bandanas even though Duncan seams to be objecting to Max wearing his.
