Holiday Things / Re: Gifts under the tree from Santa.
« on: December 24, 2005, 08:29:05 pm »
LOL... I'm printing that picture and showing it to anyone who says I spoil mine because I gave them all steak for their Christmas dinner!!

Seriously that is a gorgeous tree and you have a couple of great furkids!

I'm in Alabama, so it's year round for both for all my boys, especially the Heartguard (I actually use the generic tri-guard, but it's essentially the same stuff, just not quite as 'treat-like' in form).  I've been having the same problem with the Frontline that has been mentioned earlier... It used to work like a champ but has stopped working for more than a week, if that long, over the last year.  I have been using Adams flea mist for about 9 months now, which works well enough, but is a pain because you have to put it on every week (more if they get wet), and the boys fight it like you are killing them when you apply it.  I tried the frontline again last month and it still isn't keeping the fleas at bay.

Holiday Things / Re: Christmas Eve Movie Suggestions?
« on: December 22, 2005, 05:02:11 pm »
Every year on Christmas Eve, I open a bottle of wine, put up the tree while the following ids playing:
'How the Grinch Stole Christmas' (original)
'Charlie Brown Christmas'
'Nightmare before Christmas'
It's my annual tradition... goofy, I know, but it's fun and I've been doing it for years.

The videos are too cute.  Maggie looks like she was having a blast.  Cody looks like he just wanted to be free of her!  LOL

Y'all can have the cold!  Sent me the heat.  It hasn't gotten above the 50's here all week and I'm miserable.  Bring on summer!   ;D

I am so glad to hear that things are going so well and he is happy.  Hopefully the joint issues will be minor.  Thank you Cricket and DixieSugarBear!

Newfoundland Pictures / Re: Bava Visited Santa
« on: December 18, 2005, 10:46:04 pm »
Great pictures!   It looks like santa was really into the spirit there.  Glad everyone had a good time... Maybe Bava will explain to Feste and Chance how to behave when having Christmas pictures taken ??? lol

Great pic, but everyone's right, Santa looks a little 'uncomfortable' there....  None of the reindeer were missing, were they??  ;D

Newfoundland Pictures / Re: Happy Holidays From Drake

Great card!  Drake doesn't look like he's being a brat all... very handsome, in fact - the magic of photography, no doubt.  Happy Holidays!

Great Dane Discussions / Re: Danes on the Shoulders
« on: December 18, 2005, 07:01:48 pm »
I trained Feste to do the same.  After the first time he did it on his own when I wasn't expecting it, I decided that it needed to be an invitation only event.  I am still working on this with Chance, though both are trained not to jump on anyone but me, with or without a command.  Feste, like Grey, will do it only if he's in the mood - otherwise I get this 'would you grow up' stare over his shoulder as he steams on toward the bed... lol

GET A DANE.  GET A DANE.  GET A DANE.  GET A DANE.

Hmm.  Was that too subtle?

They are at least 60 lbs. (well, maybe at 4 months) and have short hair.

I add my enthusiatic endorsement to Tina's suggestion to get a DANE!   ;D
