« on: October 08, 2007, 03:31:21 pm »
Hey guys noticed Sat night the forum time was lagging more than a day behind real time but thought it was just me. Well got around to trying to correct it tonight and low and behold its the actual Forum time that is lagging and not just the simple to fix personal profile time. I know its not a big deal but wanted to make sure Micheal new about it.

We did rally along with agility in puppy class. Kali was much better at it than I was. I couldnt give her the commands properly but oh well.

You need a GM vehicle with Onstar, I assume you've seen the commercials, they could use the entertainment.

Medical Conditions & Diseases / Re: Rosie is hobbling badly

Rosie looks just like Fumbs did, its sad but funny all the same. Her big old chicken leg out there for all to see what a mean Mommy. The worst should be over now you just have to look forward to your little girl getting back to her old self.
The swelling of her paw area is common post op, our neighbors Boxer had surgury to set a broken Femur and when she got home her foot was gianormis, I couldn't believe it. A few days passed it was back to normal.
I question if she is in pain or just depressed. RThe vet gave her pain meds right? Usually vets want the dog to be comfortable but still have some discomfort to discourage them from becoming to active.

Kali is 105 consistant now at almost three. She seamed to stop growing at about 15 months but then had one last small growth spurt at about two, the same time she really filled out like everyone is talking about. height i couldn't give you but I would guess it at around 33" to the top of her head as she walks head held high, and probable 25" at the top of her shoulders. She is on the smaller side but like Melissa said its better for them to be lean and muscular than obese.

First I have seconds, I'll take her. The obedience should be great especially if you can get some play time at the end so she gets rewarded for working and can burn off some energy at the expence of other dogs and not you. Understand that the large breeds do develope slower mentally than the smaller ones. This will be very obvious at obedience but if Sierra is anything like Kali was, overnight she will become the star of the class.
Understand this is NORMAL puppy behavior, it may or may not be worse than what everyone else experiences but it is normal.
Your other half may be right about the discipline issue, you may not be firm enough, but he may also be to harsh. You really need to treat her as toddler in this respect and make sure you both are consistant. I noticed Kali is much more sensitive to my body language and voice than our previous dogs have been and would be curious what other's experiences have been with Newfs.

I think I'll one up the previous offer, i'll trake her while she's bad and return her when she's grown through this stage, hows that? Good luck it's trying but worth it!

I've ever seen a wolfie so dark, is that her actual color or will she lighten up as she gets older. I've never gotten to meet one as a little pup they've all been 4-5 months.

Anyway she's a cuty.

Those are too cool! The 2nd to the last is awesome!!! Great advertising! How'd they like her?
I'm curious too, I posted on the contest thread also. How open were they, it seems they pretty well embraced her :-*. It's definitly good advertising, and I'd say you should probably get one of the pitures framed and drop it off for them.
