General Board for Big Dogs with Big Paws / I hate to do this*
« on: November 28, 2006, 12:17:35 pm »
I hate to do this But i feel I have no other choice. I love Naiya(my puppy) so much I really do, But She is to much for me to handle. I have never had so much trouble tring to raise a dog/puppy I just don't want her to grow up and bite someone or be uncontrolable. I feel Like I let her down. I got her from the spca and thought I could do the best for her.So im going to try these puppy classes one more time and if they don't work im going to have to give her away to someone who has the time and a yard for her.I want her to go to a great home with other dogs. But Everytime i think about giving her away I just cry.I feel like a Horbale person.

Behavior, Housebreaking, Obedience / Potty question?
« on: November 09, 2006, 10:24:15 am »
Naiya uses her Potty pads pretty well but I made the mistake in putting them in the sunroom. Any Tips on how I can change the location of the potty pads.. what I tried but failed at was just moving them into a different room but she still potty in the sunroom so I placed them back in their. Also When/what can I do about housebreaking her? I live on the 2nd floor of a apt. which im moving in 5 months should I just wait until I moved to house break her that way she would have a yard area & could just go to the door and I can let her out unlike here where I have to walk her down the stairs. And I wanted to say Thanks to everyone who helps me out I know I post alot of questions But I always like to hear what Yall have to say!

Well Yesterday was fun and cute even through it was raining and I had nothing to do..Naiya was stairing at the rain in the sunroom & she was turing her head all weird :) So I open the sliding door and she looked at me and eased out on the deck.It was only sprinkling but when a rain drop would hit her she would go crazy and start chasing the rain drops and barking at them hehe it was so funny. This was her first time really experiencing rain. So cute!

Collars, crates, & other cool things / crate question?
« on: September 28, 2006, 04:49:54 pm »
I just started crate training a week ago, so far She is doing good. But I have to go somewhere Friday and I will be their from 7am to 6pm. I would Just let her loose around the house But my apt. is getting Inspected on Friday also. They said everyone with pets had to crate them while they Inspect. So I was wondering If it was OK for her to be in their that long being ONly 4 months. If its not ok then Im going to have to find someone to watch her but its hard at the last min.

Behavior, Housebreaking, Obedience / Need serious help
« on: September 27, 2006, 02:48:20 pm »
I posted about a week ago about my 4 month old puppy and her biting problem and learining how to crate train and barking.. LIke I said before I know its normal for her to nibble and bark but its starting to get really bad and she doesnt take me serious when I tell her no she just looks at me and keeps doing it.. I tried spraying waters bottles, a firm No/stop , a newspaper rolled up, ignoring her if you bites again after the first no, and even yipping like a mother dog and walking away.. Im not giving up on her becasue i would never do that but she is the only puppy I ever had to give me this much trouble... she gets her raibes shot this week, someone told me it might also calm her down a lil bit. Will it? If she hangs around more dogs will she calm down a little? any thing eles I can do for barking  and biting but mainly biting.I want to put her in training classes at pet smart but I dont think they help biting problems...Ple ase help!!!

Behavior, Housebreaking, Obedience / my puppy problems
« on: September 16, 2006, 07:27:22 am »

I Just got my new German shephard puppy From the SPCA she is 3 months old. She use her potty pads pretty well, But thats not my problem, I know puppys bit & bark alot but I want to get her biting and barking under control before she gets bigger. She bites everyone really hard and I tried what the spca said do ( said NO or HEY in a firm voice, walk away) I want to take her to petsmart for "puppy training"  but I dont want to waste a $100 bucks and she keeps biting. I havent tried crate training yett, too scared she will bark to much I also moved into a 2nd floor apt and have to keep her barking to a min. so When I have to leave I just let her run around the house and sometime I come home to a mess. Is it too late to start crate training? And what about the biting? please Help!!!!
