ONLY use pin brushes - the ones that do not have the little balls at the end.  You need to brush them daily! You need to wash them at least once a week.  No exceptions -unless you decide to keep them trimmed which is nice too.

I am Michelle and I have two Afghan Hounds and two Standard Poodles.  Do you have any sighthound experience?  You have to be very firm with sighthounds but not mean - nothing physical - ever.

The road I took to you - http://www.afghanhound.net see here.  That is a great book.  If you would like I can give you some groups to join in addition to this one.

You will need to learn a lot if this is your first Aghan Hound.  They will steal your heart but they will drive you crazy first!

Terra is so precious.  Such a sweet face.  You must want to hug her all of time.

She knows how to get comfy!

Your Greyhound is beautiful!

What a sad story about your sister's dog.  I can't believe he did of a heart attack.  That is just aweful.

Your dog reminds of Maurice Chevalier...do n't ask me why!
Funny - I have a picture of him with a similar expression.

Thanks so much.  I was wondering about the feet and if there were any shortcuts to keeping the feet clean.  I think trimming between the toes will really help.

You mentioned never brushing while coat is wet.  I agree!  Everyone said never brush dry, but it pulls too much when the coat it wet.

Thanks.

She is beautiful!   What a pretty face she has.  Is she brindle?  It is kind of hard to tell in pictures.  Her coat looks very nice.  I think you are doing a great job with her.  Is she spayed?  I know there is some change after they come into season (I read something about that, but do not remember the details).

Thank you so much for posting more pictures.  I love to see them.

No, I do not show.  I know nothing about that kind of stuff. Harry's coat is pretty easy if I keep it brushed about twice a week and when I bath him, I rinse out everything! I have only had him for a month, so I guess, I have not really had any issues to deal with yet.  Maybe the coats are just really different on different dogs.  I may just be lucky.

Thanks for the compliments!

He is running 100 mpr!  Almost....
