Old English Mastiff Discussions / Re: Adding possibley another OEM

I have a 5 month old Mastiff, a 13 year old Boxer and a 1.5 year old Rottie. My mastiff is my baby. Her plays with the other dogs, but still follows me around and cuddles with me. We have a great bond and he is wonderful. He can get very playful with my Rottie, but still a very calm dog overall. He think Homer would love a friend. I would jump on a Mastiff for 250!

Maybe cut back on the exercise. Too much is bad on a growing Mastiff's joints. You shouldn't feed her after exercise either. They can get bloat. Don't feed them and exercise them for an hour either unless they can get bloat. 30lbs is on the small size. My Male mastiff was like 54lbs when he turned 4 months.

I have a 24 week old male mastiff. I had the same problems! When we got him at 8 weeks we weened him off the breeders puppy chow and put him on Eagle Pack Holistic Giant puppy. He never really liked the taste and pooped alot. Since then, we discovered he shouldn't be on puupy food very long. We put him on adult at 4 months. He is now on Canidae chicken and rice. I pefered Innova, but you have to keep on eye on the protein. You don't want protein higher then about 25%. There are alot of good foods out there. I believe in Holistic and I switch the food alot so they get all the goodies. Good luck. Aren't Mastiffs the best?
