General Board for Big Dogs with Big Paws / Too Many Accidents!!!! - RANT
« on: October 27, 2005, 09:17:49 pm »
Sorry just have to rant and rave a minute... >:(

Riley is over a year old and he's been having way too many accidents in the house!!!  It makes me soooo angry.  Like last night, when I catch him, its not like I can make him stop - he just keeps goin - pees a whole freakin river!  (Only pee - he hasn't pooed in the house for months thank God!)  And it only happens when we have him out and about in the house.  I mean when we are at work, he has a small area in the office blocked off with a baby gate, where he has his bed and thats pretty much it - so of course he won't go there.  Its just so frustrating.  And I've read that his breed is slow to housetrain, but it just sucks.  Seems like anytime I think "Gee Riley has been so good lately" - he surprises me.  Just had to get that off my chest.

OMG that is just awful!  The poor little things.  Just last night, the news had a segment on a bunch of Katrina rescue dogs who developed the dog-flu and had to be sent to the bridge.  Just makes me want to cry.   :'(

Food Discussion & Information / Home-Made Doggy Treats

Hey All,

I've read about a lot of BPOers making homemade treats for their little ones and I've decided I'd like to give it a try.  Please share your favorite homemade doggy treat recipe so Riley can try some good old-fashioned homemade treats!   :)

General Board for Big Dogs with Big Paws / Re: Cutest couch picture?

Am I the only mean momma that won't let her furbaby on the couch???

Funny story though, a few Saturdays ago, I woke up and started cleaning our kitchen (hubby had installed recessed lighting in the night before and there was dust everywhere!).  So I decided to let hubby sleep in, and gate Riley off in the living room with some toys so I could clean without getting dust all over him.  So, I check up on Riley every 15 minutes or so, and hes fine.  Well, I got to cleaning the stuff on the counter and about 30 minutes goes by - and I haven't heard a peep from Riley.  I glance into the living room and am shocked to see riley curled up into a giant ball on the couch!!!   :o  I was angry cause hes never been on the couch and knows not to go on it, but at the same time it was the most precious thing I've seen.  I just had to wak up hubby - so we're both staring at Riley on the couch and and he slowly opens his eyes with this look on his face like, "Don't be mad at my momma, I just wanted to take a nap"!  :-\

Anyway, you all have some adorable shots!

:o  Wow - I can't even believe she had the nerve to sleep in your bed let alone leave the sheets in a big ball on your bed!!!  Cats got mad???  Please.  That would make me so angry!  And too busy to walk the dog and pick up the poo - isn't that what you do when you're hired and even paid extra to take care of a dog???  >:( Unreal.  Looks like your best bet would be to board him for a night or try to find a good friend or relative to take care of him.  Sorry about your nightmare - you have every reason to be upset!

I'm confused - do they eat cat poop or their own dog poop???   We had to put the kitty's litterboxes where Riley couldn't get to them cause he would eat their poop, but I heard its because its got more protein and is appealing to dogs - but he's never eaten his own poo.  I didn't know doggys did that!  Meat tenderizer sounds like a good idea.  Good luck!
