I too think a second visit to your vet, possibly a different vet would be in store.  Def. get stool samples checked. Blood work wont always tell the whole story, check and see if there are more indept tests available for dogs with digestive problems, sounds alot like my Mokey who has had ibd actively since she was about 6 months old and she had alot of the same things you are saying.

Miss mokeys silly ckc name is emberstouch mokey of fraggle.   As you can see she was named after fraggle rock.  Cute show, unfortunately dh won't let me name any future dogs after fraggle rock, doesn't like any of the names.

When discussing getting a boerbel.  I had to agree that we wouldn't name it wembley, and he agreed that we could get a brindle.  (he hates brindle, but hates the name wembley more LOL)

Don't forgot those perfect pit bull smiles that all pit type dogs have.  If you've seen a pit bull smile, you never forget it.    To cute, I love this list.

For collars there is one company now catering to the giants.  Rogz dog collars have collars that will fit even the biggest dog.  Every time I go to the store, i gaze at the huge collar i have picked out for my future boerbel.   ::)

They have really nice designs, I am a design on the collar kind of person.

This is so funny.  But i am going to tell you something that will upset everyone.  I have trained mokey to do all the above mentioned vomiting in the toilet.  Such a smart girl.  No spatula for me.

Well i thought i would keep everyone up to date.  This week i was out of town and i came across a pet boutique.  I found a beautiful purple leather collar with silver paw prints on it.  I was going to order a hemp one, but this purple leather just screamed mokeys name. LOL ;D

I think a lab sounds like a good fit, but if were maybe wanting something different, maybe a boxer.  Lots of fun and they enjoy the water, maybe not as much as labs do, but most will swim and play water fetch.

Has anyone ever tried these.  They look good.

If a tiger can play with it, I could see it lasting more than ten minuites with a dog.

Have the pups been tested for coccidia??  I knew of a mastiff pup with the same symptoms that ended up having giardia, and coccidia.  Might be worth asking the vet.

Akita Discussions / Re: You Don't Have To Be Big To Be A Bully!!
« on: August 15, 2005, 11:48:04 am »
How true.  I own a boston terrier, and believe me if you will, he is fairly well behaved at the dog park.  He has a low tolerence with other dogs bullying him.  Some others at the park find it humerous, me not so much,  he will play with everyone and be the best of buds, but, when the other dog flips him over trying to smell his underside, Lazlo the bt, gets mad.  He never causes any harm, he just chases the other dog away.  I try to deter this behaviour by calling him over and telling him no, and that his behavior is unacceptable.  It doesn't help when the other owner, is laughing histarically, and calling him over to meet my little firecracker.  I love lazlo, but little dogs are so different to teach manners too.  I've told my husband that we should stick to big dogs, they are easier.

Okay now you have me venting.  If you were in the park and a retriever jumped up, would you encourage the dog to continue doing it??  NO, why then must you encourage my little dog to jump up even though i have gained many wrinkles and probably shortened my own life span trying to teach him NOT to jump on strangers.   >:(

Alright, sorry i went off on a rant there, I just couldn't help it.  Boy did that feel good.

Thank you doghealer.  I found some collars i really like at earthdog.com.  I will be getting something from them very soon.  Thanks to everyone who put in ideas.  Especially the hemp idea, I hadn't even thought of that.
