Hi Kristi
I don't have a digital camera but I do have some film going so as soon as I get pics developed I'll add more. Nice to hear from you - Sampson is a beauty!  I so love Mastiffs, such gentle giants.

Deracoxib is a member of the class of drugs known as NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs), the same class as such common over-the-counter remedies as Advil (Ibuprofen), Aleve (Naproxen), Orudis (ketoprofen), and Aspirin.  The chief use for such drugs in the dog has been pain relief, usually joint pain or post-surgical pain relief.

The problem with this class of drugs has been unacceptable (even life-threatening) side effects. Problems have in the past been related to:

Stomach ulceration - even perforation and rupture of the stomach can occur. This is not only painful but life-threatening.

Platelet deactivation - platelets are the cells controlling the ability to clot blood and, as a general rule, it is preferable not to promote bleeding. We would prefer platelets to remain active and able to function should we need them.

Decreased blood supply to the kidney - this could tip a borderline patient in to kidney failure.

Tramadolis a narcotic analgesic

Cosequin is a glucosamine product in poder/tablet form and can take 4-6 weeks to see results. You may also have to increase/descrease the number of tablets/powder you give depending on the length of time a dog is taking the product.

Hope this information is helpful  :) Just be careful and keep a close watch because of the first 2 drugs.

Hi Michelle & Carole
It's so nice to meet you both.  Kayzer is so adorable - a big big baby!

Mission, B.C. is approx 1 hours drive from where I live, which is Coquitlam, B.C.

I love seeing all the great pics as well. I love all dogs but have a real soft spot for the larger breeds. Mostly because they're so big but so loving in spirit.

Have a great day ladies
 :)

Hi
In my opinion, liquid glucosamine Syn Flex is one of the best products on the market. It offers 98% absorption, pharmaceutical quality glucosamine in liquid, a high grade condroitin derived from shark cartilage not bovine, and many other all natural anti-inflammatory ingredients. It has worked wonders for my girl and I would nothing else.

Treatment & Preventative Meds / Re: Knee brace for luxating patella?
« on: February 16, 2006, 11:18:52 am »
Hi Jenn
How is Flloyd doing - where you able to find a proper brace?

I would like to suggest a supplement that you can give him to help lubricate his joints.  Syn Flex, liquid glucosamine is all natural, has several anti-inflammatory, pain relieve ingredients, with no dangerous side effects.  It has worked wonders for my dog.

Good luck

Hi Denise
I am so glad you got the Syn Flex.  Sorry I haven't been online for awhile now so I haden't had a chance to read any posts.  How is your Sadee doing since being on the Syn Flex?

I have friends in Germany that have 3 Leonberger - my friend calls her dogs the Leo Trio.  Leonbergers are a wonderful breed.  Good luck to you

Porsha :)

Hi - I would like to suggest that you get your baby started on Syn Flex, liquid glucosamine complex. It's all natural, safe and beneficial in these types of degenerarative joint problems. Syn Flex has 1500 mg pure glucosamine per dosage as well as shark cartilage (condroitin) and 12 other ant-inflammatory ingredients. you can find out more information about Syn Flex by visiting www.activexame rica.com/cgi-bin-at.cgi/281895/pets

Using Syn flex will help lubricate the inflammed area and reduce the pain and help with your baby's mobility.  Good luck to you.

Hi - sorry to hear about Tonka's pain.  I give my dogs Syn Flex, liquid glucosamine complex. It's all natural ingredients, includes 1500 mg pure liquid glucosamine with 12 other beneficial ingredients including White Willow Bark which is like aspirin but with no dangerous side effects that aspirin can cause. you can get more information on this amazing product by visiting www.activexame rica.comcgi-bin-at.cgi/281895/pets.

Believe me that without Porsha being on Syn Flex she would not be walking today. This stuff is truely what I call a miracle in a bottle. It lubicrates the joint/cartilage areas, reduces pain and inflammation and increases your dog's mobility. No dangerous side effects. I believe in it so strongly I became a Canadian distributor. ;)

Cheers from Porsha & Taja in Canada
