Poor Rosie, she certainly doesn't look happy. My Jessie had her surgery performed at a Vet teaching hospital in another province, so she spent 5 days under their care before I picked her up. By the time I got her, she was walking pretty much the same as she was prior to surgery. After a few weeks, she was putting full weight on it and walking normal. We were really worried we would have a hard time keeping her quiet as she is a very active dog, but they obviously sense things aren't right, and she was a model patient for the crucial recovery period.
I'm sure Rosie will start to feel better in a few days and in no time the only thing you'll notice is the shaved leg. It's been 4 months for Jessie and the hair still hasn't caught up to her other side. In a way it's a good thing - less likely to get matted
