Well, don't take your vet's advice on dog food brands. I trusted a vet and was feeding a puppy "PMI Nutrition" at their recommendation . He got cancer at a year old and died. The OTHER vet in the office said there was a good chance his food might have been a factor and recommended Wysong, RAW or any other really high quality food(s).

I reasearched PMI later to find that it is really crappy and used for institutional purposes, such as feeding dogs in experimental labs. That just creeped me out. The other vet in the office was very holistic and did accupuncture on dogs, etc. I was very surprised at their differing opinions.

I dunno, I was thinking the same thing...then I scrolled down and saw Nicole already said it.

It might also have to do with the fact the we have known each other for over 25 years and we tend to think alike.  ;)

I was very happy to hear the "rescue dog" announcement, and I have a feeling those kids will have a lot of time with the dog. They seem to have a very strong family bond and I can see them making a great family for the dog they choose.

Let's hope they set a good example for all dog owners.  ;D

I agree with the "If you think $150 is too much, then you can't afford a dog anyway" logic.

Don't get too frustrated though. You just have to remember that the percentage of people who think like a BPO'er is very low. You are helping to educate people by letting then know what goes in to that adoption fee. Maybe they will stop and think (some day) and realize how important their pet's health is, and that's a great deed!

I can't point you toward a specific model, but I will say, if red-eye is a problem, go for a larger camera. Small-bodied cameras have weak flashes that don't make it very far away, which is what results in mega red-eye. This website has oodles of information and reviews. http://www.steves-digicams.com/best_cameras.html

Something like the Canon Powershot S3 IS can be had for around $400 and it should take awesome pictures, but it won't be much fun to lug around. The tiny ones are nice to have so you will always carry the camera with you, but then you get the red-eye. There's drawbacks with everything :sigh:

Whichever you pick...get one that takes SD cards insted of xD. Much cheaper.

Hope this helps! :)

I vote for wiffle ball bat, or something even harder.  ;D

I get this to a certain extent but it doesn't bother me. I have learned that no matter what your passion is, someone will have something to say about it.

I see this exact discussion on the "sport-touring" motorcycle forum I frenquent. Friends and relatives don't understand their passion for motorcycling and constantly criticize them for it. Especially since many people feel it is dangerous, so therefore they are being selfish by riding a motorcycle and putting themselves in danger, which might "hurt" their family.

I saw it in the theatre and I seriously had to prevent myself from "crying out loud." Like, wailing and everything. Umm, I'm okay, really.

Whatever you do, don't watch that movie if you are PMSing. Whooo honey, that's some strong stuff.

I want the Honda Element to haul my dogs around. With the back seats out they would have plenty of room, plus it's not carpeted...whi ch is a major selling point for me.  :)

I will probably be hitting you up around Thanksgiving time ir a little earlier. I think I want to sew some Christmas stockings, so I'll have to send them to you to get them personalized!

Sounds like he went how I want to go...live a good healthy life and go out quick. I hope you get over your pain soon. You will be in my thoughts and in my heart.

I just realized why that last picture is so darn cute and why it reminds me of one of my boys....he's sticking out his lower lip!. I just love it when dogs pout. It is the cutest thing ever.  :-\ :-*
