I have a 4 year old Deafie, Whisper. I tried teaching her sign language and she knows a few signs but she's stubborn, what can I say??? She has no idea she's deaf! LOL
I use lights to get her attention (if shes outside after dark) to bring her in. I also rely alot on my other dogs to give her cues. Also be very careful with them out in the sun as they sunburn very easily.

Helpful Groups & Dogs in Need / 2 Danes in San Luis Obispo Ca Animal Shelter

There are 2 Great Danes in my local animal shelter. One is a young (probably under a year, more like about 6- 8 months) deaf boy and a female fawiquin. Both were owner surrender (I hate some people). There are in poor shape, very emaciated. It broke my heart to leave them there but I am in no position to bring 2 more dogs into my home (I have 4 Danes, 1 Dalmation and some cats here)

If anyone here knows of someone looking for a rescue or could possibly pull these guys let me know please.

Hi everyone. I'm Mo and I'm new here. I live in California just north of Santa Barbara. I'm slave to 4 danes, Whisper, my almost 4 year old deafie, Cash, my 3 year old harlequin boy and April and Arwen, 2 year old sisters.
