I'm in Wisconsin too!! And winter can sure be a treat around here. Boston's having fun in the little snow we have up here (I'm in Appleton). January and February, we should have a foot and a half or so! Hahaha! Enjoy while you can, there's nothing like a white Christmas! ;)

Dave and I picked up Boston last Sunday!! We've been so busy, so I haven't been on in awhile. 2 weeks ago was our Florida trip, which was wonderful (thanks for all the ideas, guys!). Then, we got Boston the day after we returned home.

I was laid off on Monday, so I've been going nuts looking for a new job, having Boston around, and of course the holidays too! Did my shopping on Black Friday. Yikes! What a week!

Boston's doing great here! He and the cat are getting used to each other. He is active and happy, only a couple accidents in the house. He was itching his recently-cropped ears, so he's stuck in an e-collar now. Healing wonderfully!!

Well, I'm waiting for Walgreens to finish my pictures (they had a paper jam, so photo shop is down). Then I will be posting so photos of the new boy at home!! YAY!!!  ;D

Anything Non-Dog Related / Re: There is a dead bird in my freezer
« on: November 09, 2006, 06:56:30 am »
I dont have a dead animal in the freezer story, but I have put something odd in the freezer.

When I first got atticus he had an obstruction.  It caused alot of problems with the breeder and he had to go to the vet etc etc.  So I get him back and find something in the yard that he had pooped out.  It looked like the arm from a barney doll.  It was pretty big and looked like it was left by aliens.

(didnt have poop on it, dont worry)

So i put it in a baggy and went to bring it over the breeders.  I put it in my glovebox and forgot about it.  It stayed in there for a while and a friend noticed a smell.  Ok..i remembered..it was the arm.

Then i decided i needed to be all grissom and put it in my freezer.  The damn thing is still in there. LOL and i have moved, so i had to pack the arm.

Holy crap! You crack me up! Way to be all "Grissom" with the butt arm.

Oh my ... I'm sure there's an interesting story behind that one!  You have GOT to post it as soon as you find out!!!  :D

I have a funny story about dead things in freezers, actually.  I had a hampster named Archimedes when Brandon and I were dating.  I came home one evening to find him very dead in his cage (the hampster, not Brandon), in the middle of winter.  I wanted the guy to have a proper burial, but knew there was no way I could dig a hole in the frozen ground myself.  So, I put him in a little tin, stuck him in the freezer, called Brandon and asked if he would mind burying him the next morning when it was daylight and warmer.  He said sure.

So the next day he comes over with shovels and all that stuff.  He says he's going to get a drink and a snack from the kitchen first, and is in the kitchen for a few minutes when I hear the shrillest, girliest scream EVER.  I go in the kitchen and find a terrified looking Brandon, holding an empty tin, with a very frozen Archimedes on the floor.  Apparently Brandon thought he had found super special ice-cream in the freezer and was in for quite a shock!

Guess I should have told Brandon where I was storing the poor guy, huh?  ::)

BWAHAHAHAHAHA  I snorted..and thats not cool when your sick

Okay...the snort...thats one of the funniest parts here. I'm more grossed out, I guess, by the "dead animals" stuff, but the snort is hilarious! Wait, does that make me kinda gross?? Haha!

Dave sneaks on here sometimes, but I'm not sure how often. I think he just looks at what I've posted, because he comes back and has some sassy comment about me putting a dorky looking picture of him up. (See "Fun with Pictures")

Haha! I thought it was cute! :P

It's on page 108 from October 19th!

By the way, I am Stacy. My Doberman, Boston, will be coming home to me on Nov 19! I'm so excited! He's almost 7 weeks old, and is a cute little goober! :D

I would probably just bring it up to the lady as "I love Lola, and I just want to know if there are certain issues that I should pay closer attention to... I'm just worried that I won't pay close enough attention to a certain symptom that I maybe would've been more concerned about if I knew there was a past issue."

Make sure she knows that you aren't going to demand money or return Lola or anything like that. You just want to be prepared. Make it sound like you're worried YOU might miss something. (wink, wink)

I have a new puppy coming this month (a Doberman), and I have found that one of our local boarding/training places has evening play dates once per week. It is just a supervised play session for a limit of 6 or 8 dogs (I forget exactly). I would recommend looking for something like that. Also, someone I know just walked their dog around the mall area with a dog shirt on that said, "Dog In Training. Pet Me!" That may, however, require much more attention and monitoring, but a thought...

Good Luck! :)
