Introduce Yourself to the Forum / Hello Again.....
« on: July 19, 2010, 08:19:47 pm »
Hi everyone. I've been on this site for wow almost 2 years now but I haven't actually been on in forever so I figure I would re-introduce myself and my bubbies as I like to call them.

Well I'm BritnyLe I'm married to my lovely husband. We have a 1 year old daughter and just bought our first house!!! yay!

Anyway about the "other children" in our house.....

I have my Hades, he is going to be 2 on August 24th. I always tell people that I don't have any urge to have a male child because Hades is basically my son. My husband and I bought him shortly after we moved in together when we were still dating.

His father was a Great Dane/English Mastiff mix and his mother was a Saint Bernard. He basically looks like a muscular dane with the saint markings and coat. He's pretty much the best of everything. He has the height and body of the Dane, the muscles and a bit wider head like the Mastiff, and the beautiful long hair and marking of the saint. Plus he NEVER drools!!!

We also have a new furry addition to our family, her name is Jypsi. She is a cocker spaniel/australian cattle dog mix. We got her for our daughter because we really wanted a smaller dog that my daughter could play fetch with and take with us for walks.

Hades really had no motivation to chase a ball or walk at all so we wanted a dog with a bit more energy. Also our vet doesn't think Hades will live too long so we wanted another dog that our daughter could have to ease the pain when Hades passes away.

We also have many cats here because we breed and show Ragdolls and Turkish Angoras.

Oh and we have Otis our rabbit who thinks he's a dog and runs throughout the house. lol!

Well that's a bit about us! I can't wait to re-meet everyone and she what has all changed!!

There aren't really regulations here if you live outside of the city limits and it's super easy to get a kennel lisence. She lives on a 5 acre farm and owns about 12 dogs currently and lets them breed with who ever they want. She says she's a Saint Bernard breeder though I've only seem her sell mix breeds and when she does have pure saints she says "I think the dad is" so she doesn't even know which saints bred together. I see alot of hybrids but I don't understand why she let the barely 1 year old doberman/pit bull mix breed. He isn't an attractive dog and there are sooo many pit mixes in shelters being out to sleep because of rules against owning them here.

Yea I agree. And she still has puppies left from her last mix litter that she can't get rid of. She is charging 250 for her newest litter and she ussually charges 600-800 for her other 50/50 mix litters. I think she does it for money.

Ok so I had a post on here before about a lady who is mix breeding her dogs constantly on purpose. Well she's at it again! she is now no longer  mixing just pure-bred dogs together. She used to mix and match her Saint bernards, pyrs, newfies, and old english sheepdogs. Well now she added a new addition to her group and is breeding him as well. He is a Doberman/Pit Bull mix. She is breeding him with her other female dogs and just put a new page up stating how excited she is about her new litter. She bred her Saint Bernard with the Doberman/Pit Bull mix! And she's boasting about how cute the puppies are >:(

So recently there have been tons of big paw puppies at shelters near me and I'm so tempted to scoop one up. There is a male brindle, chow/great dane mix that will be ready March 1st, a pure-bred black great dane puppy that was born November 30th, he's the last of a litter of three, and they have three anatolian shepard puppies! I would take them all if I could! If anyone would be interested in any of them I could send you the links for them.  ;)

Yea, the baby will definatly be exposed to everything. That's Chris's main problem, his mom never made him try anything. She would make dinner for her and his brother and then make Chris something special. I was raised where we tried EVERYTHING and if we didn't like what was made for dinner then we could eat the left overs in the fridge or go hungry. Chris is getting better. He was much much worse when we first got together, now he tries everything at least.

;D Well cooking has always been my passion. I took a ton of culinary classes. I some how managed to find a guy that is super picky. So it's hard to make anything because he won't eat anything. I used to own a pet bakery called "Pet's Pantry" and we made any type of human desert doggy safe, so I now just use the doggy safety things I learned then and mix it into my regular cooking.

And if anyone is ever in Wisconsin, my house is always open and I often throw dinner parties....... ;)

They have tests you can get done to figure out the actual breeding. Alot of vets and shelters offer them no days. They swab the dogs mouth and then test the dna to see what breeds they are. You could try doing that. Then at least you'd know for sure. Both of my dogs are mixed but I saw their parents so I knew what they were mixed with.

Well Chris thinks I'm going crazy and I just might be. So here's the thing. I'm a stay at home soon to be mom. Which is great it's what I always wanted but I won't have the baby till July so until then I find myself overly bored with nothing to do. Chris works from 3:30pm - 2:30am so I'm home alone alot and it's hard to have dinner together. I LOVE to cook and bake (I was a professional cake decorator before I decided to stay home) and I usually just makes dinner for myself and put Chris's portion in a container for him to take to work the next day.

My favorite part of cooking is watching the other person enjoy it and I never get to. Well most of the time you can't find portions for just two people. Sooooo I've started to cook for the dogs.  :P I make meals now that me and the dogs can eat together. I even put them on their own plates and make it look really nice. Tonight we had chicken parm, with boneless skinless chicken breasts, homemade tomato sauce and steamed vegetables. Hades and Roxi loved it and they always seem to enjoy it way more then Chris. LOL!

Group Discussions & Photos / Hades has a new girlfriend. LOL!
« on: February 09, 2009, 09:35:37 am »
So I was talking to a friend and she introduced to me a friend of hers. Well we start talking and I was telling her about how I was planning on taking Hades to the dog park now that it's getting warmer. Well...... I fing out she has a 7 month old female German Shepard puppy! So we decide to set up a puppy play date and Hades was just awe struck. He was such a gentleman. He'd let her drink the water first and he'd wait till she was done before he'd drink anything. He'd also make me stop and wait for her if they fell behind when we were walking and he'd always have to be right at her side when they were playing. He didn't even pay attention to the other dogs, he was 100% focused on her. It was adorable. I have some pictures below that one of our friends took with her phone.

Yea I still havn't decided on anything. I just keep calling her Teeny Tiny. LOL! Now that she's getting more adjusted to her new home her personality is really starting to come out. When she was at the petstore she was really timid and the other bunnies beat her up.

Well now she's done a 180 and she's got the coolest personality. Her size and appearance doesn't match her at all. She's VERY bold and she isn't afraid of anything. She'll just hop up to anyone or anything. She's even starting to chase Hades around the room. LOL! He's scared of her and runs away and she just keeps going after him.

She also loves to lick people. I'll bring her in bed in the morning to wake up Chris and she'll hop right up to his face and start licking him. She also eats ALOT and is gaining alot of weight.
