I'm at work as I do this and am trying to get things up as quickly as I can inbetween class. So, bear with me. The polls are closed but as soon as I am done I'll open it up. Note, you canlook at the boys and think about your fave.

Monthly Photo Contests / BPO's "Best Eyes" Photo Contest Info.

Our theme for this month is "Best Eyes!" We're going to be looking for your doggies to be pictured in a way that shows off one of their best features. 
Up close or upside down, we want to see those eye.
Don't forget to send your picture to jabear@gmail.com along with your username, dog's name and dog's gender.
Submission dates: April 1-6
Voting Dates: April 7-12
Winners Announced: April 13

Monthly Photo Contests / 2008 BPO Calendar Information

This year we are going to publish a BPO Calendar online. With the time constraints and everything, it is easier this way. The calendar will be online and available for you to download and print or buy at your convenience. 
Here are the rules for entering this contest:
1.Email any horizontal picture you like of your dog(s) (make sure its size as close to 800k as possible).
2.Email it to jabear@gmail.com no later than Saturday, Dec. 22 along with your username, real name, dog's name and gender.
3.The polls will open for voting for the top 24 positions on Dec. 23 and run through Dec. 29.
4. In the event that there is a tie, as there was last year, the tie breaking re-vote polls will open on Sunday, Dec. 30 and end on Tuesday, Jan. 1.
From here, the calendar will be created and posted for you to download as soon as possible. The latest date will be Jan. 3, 2008.
Good luck and let me know if you have any questions.

Group Discussions & Photos / Bear & Raito playing in the wilderness

This weekend we took Bear up to my aunt & uncle's home in the mountains. We met my cousin Michelle and her dog Raito (now a BPO member) up there too. The dogs & the humans had a great time. Bear played with Raito and bugged the tiny Bassett Hound named Emma. Here are a few pics of the day.

Newfoundland Pictures / Bear's Backpacking Trip 2007

Bear went with us again backpacking thru the Kaiser Wilderness. He had a blast. We got to the trail head at about 1 in the morning and got to our destination at 4. Hiking thru the night made it a breeze for him as there was no sun beating down on him. Most of us were pretty beat by the time we got there and crashed out but one of my buddies wanted to get his fishing on. Bear, never one to miss a trip for fishing decided to join the all nighter. Of course by the time I woke up and went fishing, Bear had had enough. He ate his breakfast and caught some z z z's. By the time I got back he was ready to go. He offered again to carry some of my stuff - what a great dog! That night, he was so hungry he had eaten all of his dinner and his next day's breakfast. Poor guy. He didn't miss breakfast though! I did.

Just to let you all know we're making some serious upgrades to the board in an effort to speed up the page loads, fix errors, increase security, and improve overall performance.
