Newfoundland Discussions / Should I get another newfie?
« on: January 21, 2008, 06:03:45 pm »
Hi everyone!  I'm not so good at posting on these things but I know that this is the place to come for good info on big dogs:)  I have a 3 year old landseer newfoundland who LOVES other dogs.  I am really thinking about getting another dog for him (and me:)  I have just become such a sucker for the newfies that I can't even think about getting another breed (except for maybe a newfie mix).  I was just wondering if the people that had 2 large, slobbery, hairy teddy bears would encourage or discourage this.  Any advice would be great.

Thanks!

It seems like most people on this are from the west coast but I am thinking about getting another newfie in the future and wondered if anyone knew of any breeders they would recommend on the east coast.  I know looking for close breeders isn't the best way but I would like to go check the place out before I get a puppy from there.

Newfoundland Discussions / water work
« on: June 13, 2006, 02:12:44 pm »
Does anyone know how I could get started with water work?  I live in Richmond, Virginia.  I e-mailed the local newfie club but didn't receive a response.  Bentley doesn't have any experience but I think he would really enjoy it so I was hoping to get some help in getting started.  Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Newfoundland Discussions / Can Newfoundlands have Irritable Bowel Syndrome?
« on: February 28, 2006, 11:48:58 am »
Hello everyone!  I have a 1 year-old landseer newfie (I know I need to upload a cute picture of him) and he seems to have a very sensitive digestive tract.  It seems like every time we go away for a weekend he has diarrhea when we come home.  I've been careful to not change his food or treats so I'm not sure what to make of it.  I don't think it is anything serious, because it only happens when his routine changes.  I was wondering if anyone else has had experience with this?

Thanks!
