Old English Mastiff Discussions / Is my Mastiff Growing Abnormally fast?
« on: August 21, 2005, 10:04:48 pm »
My three month old Mastiff Zoe weighs in at 48lbs. Is this abnormally fast? or is it because she likes to eat rocks in her spare time? We try not to let her eat rocks but sometimes it is impossible. So back to my question is this too fast for a Mastiff to be 48lbs at 3 months?

We just started giving Greenies to our dogs and they love them but sometimes after they eat them they get so wound up. Is there some sort of crack cocaine (just kidding) in them like there is in catnip that makes them do this? How many of these should we be giving our dogs? We are giving them each one a day.

General Board for Big Dogs with Big Paws / Unfair Dog Treatment
« on: July 20, 2005, 12:25:45 pm »
My wife and I own two dogs. Hers (Bichon Frise) she owned the dog before we were married, and Ours (Old English Mastiff). Her dog gets to sit on the couch, sleep in our bed, and basically goes anywhere she wants. Our OEM is a puppy and we are training her. My wife does not want her on our couches, chairs or bed. I tell my wife we either need to let her do all of those things since her dog does or we need to train the Bichon to not get on any of the furniture. I feel that this is a fair option what does everyone out there think. What is good for the goose is good for the gander. I just want an even playing field for both of our dogs. My OEM can't understand why the Bichon can go onto the couch and she can't. Any suggestions???

My OEM puppy Zoe 10 weeks old now wants to chew on everything. We have tried Bitter Apple, Repel, and some other repellents but they seem to make her want to chew it more. Anyone have any ideas? My furniture and baby's toys need help. Thank you.

My 9 week old puppy is eating rocks has anyone else had this problem? My vet seems to think it has to do with the breed because he has two other patients that do the same thing.
