We took the gang to get a group pic done and the photographer asked was there any way to have Stan keep his tongue in or is he always like that. We told him that is tongue was usually out to some degree throughout the day.  When we get those pics back I'll post them, in the mean time follow the slobbering tongue   :D

BTW Stan is 8 months old and just weighed in at 115. Since I havent been on in a while there are quite a few pics.

So Lisa, the girls, and I decide to go to PetSmart Sunday and take Stan out to meet people, and friends and to get weighed. As we are walking in this woman is at the cashier with her dog behind her on a fairly loose lead basically blocking the entry way. We begin to walk in and I being the responsible dog owner keep Stan at my side and get this lady's attention. Still doesnt turn aroung so I start to talk to her dog when she turns around and pulls the dog to her after she sees Stan.  I ask nicely if her dog is friendly and if Stan could say hi and she says, "well yes he is but I dont allow my dog to socialize".

I was taken back because, A. you bring your dog to a pet store where other people and dogs come, B if you are so concerened about your dog keep it better controlled on a lead.

I know its not a big deal but she mad it seem as  though WE did something wrong. People are so f-in arrogant.

BTW Stan is now 70 well behaved pounds.

American Mastiff Discussions & Pictures / Stans Family
« on: February 26, 2006, 09:57:46 am »
Stan got to meet 2 other AMs this weekend. Moya, the smaller ones, is actually Stan's 1/2 sister, and Bubba is his nephew.  It was a great time and Stan did very well as did the older pups, despite the huge size difference. Bubba is a year and a half and weighs in at 170ish, while Moya, who is a little over a year is a mere 130-140.

American Mastiff Discussions & Pictures / First Day Away from my Boy
« on: January 18, 2006, 05:01:18 pm »
Today has seemed to drag on and on. I was lucky enough to have off on
Monday and to have taken Stash to work with me on Tue and Wed. Today
I am in a different office without any outside access so no Stash
today. I was able to see on those days that he pretty much sleeps
from 8 until 12-12:30 befor going out, eating, out and then back to
sleep until 4ish. It still kills me that I dont have access to him.
My wife just called about 1 or so to tel me that she was home and that
of course he was alright. No crate accidents. He was just very
thirsty and usually does drink lot (is that true for the other puppy
oweners too, the drinking a lot that is). My wife laughs at me and
say I am addicted to this puppy... and she may be right LOL.

I was just wondering how the other new puppy moms and dads have been
doing with this. I have had to leace other dogs in the past as well
but this little guy has seemed to be the hardest. Just something
about the AM right?!?

American Mastiff Discussions & Pictures / Stan Lee is Home
« on: January 16, 2006, 02:36:05 pm »
We brought Stan home on Friday night and everything has been going so great. Doing really well with house braking and doing well in his crate with minimal whining at times.  He sleeps most of the time so that make things easier. But when he plays, boy does he play.  Pics posted with more to follow.

We are tryoing to narrow down our choices for our male AM that we are picking up tomorrow.  Problem is the ones we like our family isnt crazy about. I swear its harder than naming a skin baby!!! We have 2 other dogs (Julie and Steve) and would like to keep the name more
"human sounding"
So here in no particular order:

Magnus
Stanley aka Stash Stashu (we are polish)
Kal-El aka Kyle (superman fans)
Clayton Bigsby
Bruce
Milt
Sampson

any other sugestions?
I cant wait to finally be able to post paw prints and pics!!
