Giant Schnauzer Discussions / New member needs help

Hi,
I'm new to Big Paws and wondered if anyone could give me some advice. I have a 5 month old giant schnauzer. He is always stealing things but recently he has started to get very possessive and growls and clamps his teeth shut on the things he's stolenn (and any fingers that might also be in the way). He would rather swallow things than let go even when tempted by toys and treats. Can anyone offer any assistance?
