General Board for Big Dogs with Big Paws / St. in kill shelter
« on: February 02, 2009, 04:08:07 pm »
Hello everyone...i would like to tell every one that there is a 6 year old, less then 100 pound St. in a kill shelter in Boston MA. He was an owner surrender, i believe they told me his owner passed.  Do to the fact he is on cement, his hips are hurting him.  He did pass the temperment test, although hopefully he won't be there too long.  He is at the MSPCA.

« on: November 18, 2008, 04:02:21 pm »
So as you know we are getting another pup, well...i have choice puppy which is sooo wonderful, but how do i know what puppy? She wants me to go there this weekend and pick my pup, but they are 3 weeks old. How do i know what the pup will look like if they are just starting to walk?  What are some key things i should look for? I know the angles, shoulder angle, head, long bodied...but anything else? I do plan on taking bunches of pics and posting them here...but any suggestions?

Anything Non-Dog Related / O/T Copyrights
« on: November 07, 2008, 05:18:58 pm »
hey...i know what copyrights are, although i also know that many people say that things are copyrighted and they truely are not.  I have no problem giving credit to the rightful owner...althou gh i would like to know if i have to contact the person...

The other question is:  what does commercial use mean? Does that mean i can't sell it? or does it mean i can't use it in training classes because people paid for the classes? or can i use it?

Old English Mastiff Discussions / breeding help
« on: October 29, 2008, 03:06:48 pm »
ok...i am not breeding right now...just to clear that part up.  BUT...i have been told that when we do breed (in 3 years) the foundation b*tch must be able to be line bred with our dog now.  Is this something that has to be done? is there any books i could read to help me with this? I know i have a while, because our foundation b*tch was born actually today (i thought yesterday, but didn't happen) so i have quite a while.  BUT...should she be line bred? or could i do an outcross? **same breed, different lines** who do compliment eachother?

edited:cleaned up words a little

Today is our Great Dane Jazmine's 3rd Birthday!! I can't believe it...Time has FLOWN by, it feel like it was just last month when we had a party for her 1st birthday!!  (also our orignal vet gave us the life span of only 4 years...due to her being poor bred and the fact she is a giant.  well she is going strong, still puppy like, and healthy as a horse...)  She is such a goober.   It is too bad that it is raining here, but she is having a great day, and a special dinner!
We are also getting another mastiff, a black brindle show girl.  She is also due for birth today!!! SO...how funny is that!!

General Board for Big Dogs with Big Paws / Training the abused mastiff
« on: August 30, 2008, 10:11:19 am »
Hello,
we are working with a breeder on this case, but perhaps some of you who are more experienced could help us out more.  We have this 15 month old mastiff named Princess, she is hand shy, never been on leash, scared to death of leaving the house, scared to have her collar touched...in fact she dives to the ground when you touch her collar.  She weighs 200 pounds...well actually 170....she was returned to the breeder, and the breeder and i have been in contact about other things. SO...my question to you, have any ideas on how to help her out and become more confident? My plan was to work with her and the clicker. Clicker and target training.  What do you think?

General Board for Big Dogs with Big Paws / ot cat peeing on couch
« on: August 23, 2008, 11:31:09 pm »
for the cat people out there, what can i use to remove cat pee? we have tried natures miracle, simple solution, get serious, and more.  But the thing is i don't know the other spots, i could get a black light...althou gh that is a lot of looking!!!  IS there something that can get rid of bacteria (from drool) as well as cat pee? Is there something that is out there like a rug cleaner solution or something? preferably like a powder or something?

hey...i have a new website, come visit it. I just made it myself...!!!! I am so excited. I still have the other one, but this one is more "professional".  Let me know what you think... i know i know...there are mistakes, but there are only 24 hours in a day and working on it for 19 hours a day isn't easy!!! ::)  take a look! I know the title is way too long, we are going to try to shorten it to guardianangles fpp, but i have to purchase another domain! So we will have to wait.  I did have just four pawsitive paws, but a co-worker put the website up as her!!! So my company clients were all getting sent to her >:(  so i made my own site.

htp://www.guardianangelsfourpawsitivepaws.com

the co-worker site who she stole from me (even though i am the person in the pics) is www.fourpawsit ivepaws.com
