When we take my 2year old neo Daisy to the vet.  I now know not to use restraints.  My vet is a man, and uses a stern voice with her, and uses guts i wouldnt have.  If we use nurses and restrain her she fights for her life.  If he talks to her, uses alot of stern voice correction, its a lot calmer in the room.  Now Daisy has never snapped, or even shown her teeth, she has growled.  But she is submissive in the long run.
Please, i am not sure if I read your post right, but did you praise her and give her treats after you tried her front paws??  That would be rewarding her for bad behavior.  Also, if she listens good when dear hubby is around, is she the same when he is not around.  Remember, you will have two woman in this house now.
I wish you luck.  If you need some help feel free to email me.  Also, do you know this dogs breeding??  I say this because I have run into 3 dogs this last year with similiar problems.  Come to find out.  Their grandparents were brother and sister.  My fingers are crossed for you.  A dog not comfortable in its own skin, that feels it has to be in defense all the time is a sad dog.  I am so sorry for you :(

My horse had ocd, that was NO FUN< she had surgury and is ridden everyday!  It was fron poor diet(she was a rescue)  or a rapid diet change.  It caused bones not to fully harden and gave her bone chips in her knees.  I have the internal pics from the surgury!  I better, it wasnt cheap!

neorescue.net you can start by looking there.  I wouldnt trade Daisy for the world. She came to me with a ton of problems, and she is almost all healthy, just her skin probs to fix now!  We got her just before xmas.  She was a year in December.  They definatly are not for everyone!!!!!!She is a challenge!
Thanks again!

Saint Bernard General Discussions / Re: food

I feed Neura Wellness the simple food. It is awseome, we feed the venison and rice, one protein and one carbohydrate.  It took a long time for me to find the right food.  The urinary probs can come from to many veggies also.  We fed our rotti, neura wellness fish and sweet potatoe, the sweet potatoe gave him he urinary probs.  He has major food allergy issues, the venison and rice is the only food(including barf) that doesnt give him probs, I would love to get my neo on barf, but i am not sure if its the best thing yet.  I need to talk to more neo owners first!

She is hilarious.  She is always curling up sidewards in her crate.  It is only 3' wide!!!!!  She gets in the weirdest positions.  In this picture she could of had the whole couch, and look at her front feet, they are all curled!!  She is the craziest snuggle bug, lol!  Thank you for enjoying her picture!!
