Thank you, thank you, is not enough!

It rips my heart out to think of all of the furkids down there alone and scared. And now they want to SHOOT them >:( :'(.......

Bless your hearts, I hope you are able to help many more!

Awwwww!! They look so comfy! Who would have the heart to tell them to move ;D. I have that problem w/ Pua.  I sleep on the sofa alot on the weekend instead of going to bed and  just Friday night Miss Pua "kicked" me off. So I grabbed my blanket and pillow and slept with Hank. Bad, bad, bad, I know.......but I can't make her move when she's all comfy either ;)

That would be great ;D! The one next month is here at our local Humane Society. The one in October is in a near by city at their HS. Our regional director is doing the table there and Hank and I are going up, but I thought I'd take some things there too. So there will be all breeds of dogs running around at both places. Plus it would just be nice to have some quick ideas for  Petco and Petsmart Saturday visits ;)

Welcome ;D!

Welcome! (I am a newbie myself)! Adorable crew you have ;)!! Thanks for all of your hard work at the shelter helping these furkids who can't help themselves! It was because of someone like yourself that saved our latest addition to our family, Hank!
He is an older guy (Mastiff) very grey face......they found him dumped along side a road, very smelly and thin :'(. Because he looked so old they were going to put him down, but a volunteer at the shelter, a mastiff owner herself knew he had quality time left contacted the rescue we volunteer for and the rest is history. He lives a life of luxury here. We're the lucky ones ;)

Hi All! I will be at a rescue event next month (and Oct. )and wonder if any of you have any ideas I could do (in a short time).
I have bought fabric for bandanas...I got some cute holiday fabrics since they are fast approaching. I was also thinking of maybe whipping together some party mix of some sort to bag and sell. Anyone have any good recipes? I'd love to have one w/ like candy corn or something "festive" in it ;)

Thanks in advance

General Board for Big Dogs with Big Paws / Re: Is this normal?

That is a hoot!!! Pua had to wear a cone, or should I say was suppose to wear a cone once and she sat there w/ the most pitiful look on her face and would not move. I about peed myslef laughing. Hubby was mad at me for laughing so hard but picture a Mastiff head sticking out of this huge cone! We took it off because we felt so bad for her and she left her stitches alone, so she didn't have to wear it after all. I wish I would have gotten a picture ;).
Thanks for sharing ;D

Remembering those no longer with us. / Re: Lady has lost her fight
« on: August 20, 2005, 07:44:11 am »
I am so very sorry to hear of your loss. Someone told my sister when she lost her Golden that we take their pain and make it our own when we set them free. I have found those words comforting to me.
We lost a foster not too long ago and that loss almost did me in. The pain is still raw when I think of it, but I focus on the love and care that she got, as I do with the others we've loved and lost.
Your Lady was so lucky to have a caring mom. She took that love with her. Remember that.
We will all be trampled one day at the bridge when we are reunited w/ all of our furkids
My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Godspeed sweet Lady

Hi All! My sister, a Newf mommy told me about this place and told me I should come check it out!
This looks like a fun site with alot of great dogs and  people ;)!! I always like to talk to others who have big dogs.....some people just don't understand, or should I say "get it" ;D
We have 2 English Mastiffs and a chocolate Lab.  Our lives evolve around the "kids" and I wouldn't have it any other way. We are also involved in Mastiff rescue. We just got an older guy from rescue last month. He is a doll, and has fit in to our family wonderfully. I couldn't imagine life without him already! He will be my "poster boy" for rescue events.
Anyways, I just wanted to say HI and I look forward to getting to know you and your big furkids!
