General Board for Big Dogs with Big Paws / Re: Big Paws Needs Support
« on: October 26, 2006, 06:54:50 am »
I am sorry, if you are asking for monetary support - you have an obligation to report how it is spent.
There is no need to be sensitive about it. It is just part of tax laws in this country. With advertisement and merchandise - this site is a BUSINESS, if the owners do not realise that they may get in trouble with the IRS - this should serve as a wake up call.

It donations are stricly to run the site and not for profit - there should be a meter running "looking for $200 this month, got $77", so people who can - contribute this month, and if the amount has been met - they can do it next month instead.

I don't know about you, but I wouldn't send the money to someone with a very nice site if there is no information about how much is needed and how close are they to the target. The only reason for not disclosing this information - is the hope to collect more than needed to run the site. And the opposite - if you are not meeting the monthly goal - disclosure will stimulate a few more people to donate.

This has nothing to do with this site in particular, just common sense, really.

Oh, thank you, everyone! I have to admit - I have never been more "in love" with a dog - he is just perfect - gentle sole, my best babysitter for puppies, and quite protective when needed.
Here is his sister Buta, she lives with family in Pennsylvania.

And here is his sister Burta - she lives with me.

Beso's mom - Datvi.

Another sister - Babale, ives in Louisiana.

....
I can go on forever, I have  thouzands of pictures of my dogs. LOL  ;D ::)

Just thought to come back and say hello.
Here is my baby Beso - he is 12 month old, and I think may qualify for a "Big Paw" title.  ;D

He has a friend - min pin named Luidgy, who steals his food (that is why he is so fat) and uses him as a pillow. LOL

Oh, Lyn!
I appologise! I never implied that you meant that. No way!
I need to explain myself better too.

And by "firm hand" Babs meant "strong will". LOL I don't think she ever used a "hand" to discipline her dogs. I think she spoils them more than she spoils her husband.  :P

As for National Geographic program - it has been on the air since 2003 at least. Very damaging program for the breed, as well as now it attracts attention of questionable characters. Every time it airs I get calls from people who "wants a dog just like the one in this program", but always answer "I don't have dogs like this".

In fearness to the breeder featured in this program - I was told the crew shoot over 3 hours of material, but they obviously had their own agenda, since the 10 minutes of chosen material was so single-sided. On the other hand - for any breeder to give a referal of such owner to the TV crew is unthinkable to me (not to mention placing a dog with the person like that).

Brushing sure helps, but sometimes you get a lot of by-product. LOL

Congrats, my little Chunky-Monkey!
Long way to go from this. LOL She is in the middle (fourth one from the left) with an orange ribbon.

Now that I looked at it, I think the picture is stretched horizontally, so the pup looks more massive than he is.

There is not enough space inside to run around or do much of anything, so they figure out what to do to release some of this energy (after awaking from a speed bump condition).
