can't get over such lovely dogs! i've ALWAYS like big dogs far more than small ones, and we've had a rottie before who came to us from someone else who didn't have the time or inclination to look after him. he was a big old boy called Xtra, sweet and even tempered even though he'd spent most his life ignored out in a pub yard    he died about 8 years back now, all of a sudden - heart attack of brain haemorrhage, we're not sure but just keeled over after sitting up all excited looking at the sweet Paul was holding for him.

hello all   i'm another newbie and found this place while looking for a site about Pharoah hounds!

i'm Jan, and with my husband Paul have a big ol' orange dog -Syd - his mum was an english mastiff x red setter, and his dad was a black lab x boxer! he has the temprement of a lab and all the soppyness of a setter... and sheds bucketloads!!!!!

we were asked to give a home to a 12 week old pup who'd lived in 4 other places, and was meant to be great with other pets, kids etc... she was also supposed to be a weimeraner x doberman! lol - when we got her, we can't tell her age except she's still growing, has good teeth, some small scars, gives our three cats HE** and is - surprise surprise - not what she was supposed to be but a gorgeous Pharoah Hound! what a personality... but our cats hate us!
