Nope all we know is that she has had gastroenteriti s (sp?) and the fact that i insisted upon all test means that we may have spotted kidney disease early on.  So, in 10 days more test and ultrasound on kidneys if needed.

Price was not too bad, I agree.

I am so happy to have her home.  Ordered her a new bed today as a welcome home.

Thanks

Hurrah - Day-z is home.

Basically the stool is normal but soft, rather than liquid and pupper is home.

She has shaved patches on her front legs where the drip went in and she is now cleaning up.  We have given her dinner (special food from vet) and she is now lying in her favourite spot.

We go back in 10 days for more tests on her kidneys.

As you can imagine, i am very, very relieved to have her home - and she seems much better than when she went in.

Thanks for all your support

Jill and Day-z

FYI - $740 more or less....

If he is not drinking or keeping water down, i would take him back now.  If he is drinking but not keeping down food i would give it longer but if it continues i would take him back.....

Becasue he ain't no wimp, he is a little handsome man and we love him.

I would love to meet up with you guys.

I am fairly fired up that unless they convince me she needs to be there then i am bringing her home tomorrow.  We'll see how tomorrow goes.

Thanks for your thoughts, hope your baby boy is OK.

Under Day-z' black mask she has black skin and it is kind of pinkish under the brown patches and more white under the white.  Weird, but lovely

I am glad that the name was chosen for a reason like that.  Day-z is not Daisy as I did not want people to think i had named her after a flower - although i guess i kind of did.  She is hardly a gangsta rap star - ah Crufts, makes me homesick for the old country.

Very cool name and really hope he is better soon.

I have to ask...... why the name kitten ?

Hope all goes great with him.

They are keeping her at the vets because her stool is still runny and because her creatinine level is still higher than they would like.  So, they are keeping her on IV to help her kidneys out.

However, she has been there much longer than I would have liked - but atleast until tomorrow when we see how the blood and stool is.

The trouble is we don't have a baseline creatinine level for her, so maybe it is always elevated.

Anyhow, they can play it their way until tomorrow and then i want to know what time i am collecting her.

Seems to me to be a big coincidence, Daddy had pancreatitis and upped creatinine and now she does.....

Well, atleast they know about the family history now - which i did not until this afternoon.

So, when I call in the morning I will check that they have investigated this as much as they can.

Hope all works out well with your surgery.

Update - she is staying at the vets for one more night at least.

Oh welll...

I got in touch with her breeder and her Father was hospitalized for pancreatitis at a fairly young age and had elevated creatinine levels - and happily made a full recovery.

I have told the vet this and while he says they have tested her for that it gives them something else to consider.

This has been one of the longest weeks of my life, and i cannot wait for her to come home.

Thanks all

Flynn really is very handsome !

I think Day-z could fall in love, well rather with him than the Pekinese she likes at daycare.

Thanks

Well all being well Day-z may live in the UK too one day (I am British, living in Miami), so thanks and good that she has doggy friends there.

Update on her, she is alert and watching the people at the vets office, her stool is firming.

Tests on kidneys happen tomorrow - but I am a lot happier today than i was yesterday.  Thanks so much people for the good BPO karma.

Ah well, big girl made it through the night and her temperature seems to be better.  Her stool is firming up and they might try her on some food this afternoon.  So, she is doing OK, but will stay in today and probably tomorrow too.

And to think that i thought that maybe buying pumpkin would get the big baby well.  Guess it really does show that sometimes they do need to go to the vets.

I miss her very much, but will not go and visit her - as it will upset her too much, and me i am sure.

They said to call tomorrow, but i will probably call later today.  They plan on running full urinolysis tomorrow to see what the deal is with her kidneys after IV.

What a week.....

Thanks for the support

Thanks, I had already told Day-z about Zoey.  Hip problems and bloat were the things i dreaded, i was not prepared for this - but hey things might come good.

We will be thinking about you guys too.

Thanks

Jill
