Yeah! I am soooooo excited. Today is the big day we pick up Sully (or Chaplin) - I figured we would choose one once we saw him. We leave today after I get off work (around 12:30).

Everyone get ready for some pics. I can't wait to post them.

Sorry if I already posted this story.

My hubby and I came home from work one day and the living room was covered in feathers. One of the dogs had fought with the feather duster and won. I lined all 3 dogs up trying to find the guilty culprit. First I said "Sheba, did you eat the feather duster" - no response. Then I said "Harley, did you eat the feather duster" - again no response. Lastly I said "Ozzy, did you eat the feather duster" - he sat there for a minute then he hicupped and I noticed a feather flew out of his mouth. BUSTED.

If you want a velcro dog, then an English Mastiff is hands down the best choice. Ozzy sits outside the bathroom when i go in and if i happen to not get the door all the way closed he comes and sits in the bathtub and stares at me. If is sit down for longer than 30 seconds, he is up on the couch and lays his head on my lap. then when i try to get up he pushes his chin down hard on my lap to try to hold me down. My hubby has learned to "call his spot" when he gets up off the couch.

One downside is they tend to be a bit gassey. Ozzy has cleared many rooms in his days.

Hope this helps.

Someone from another site suggested the name Chaplin. They said he reminded them of Charlie Chaplin b/c of the black and white. I though that was kinda neat.

OK. now that we finally got the puppy payments straightened out we have to come up with some names.

I really like Sully and my husband likes Jax.

Any suggestions. You can see my other post for pics.

I am sooooo excited.  :D :D :D
My hubby called the breeder and he agreed to take the price down to $1,500 and he is also is letting us make it in 3 payments so we don't have to come up with it all at once.  :D :D :D
So, it look like we get to pick up our new puppy next weekend.

Thanks everyone for the replies.

I checked out the websites and the hips, heart, elbows and cystinuria are all good or excellent as the breeder has said on both the mom and the dad.

He does have a very small white patch on his back/top of shoulder. What do you guys think of how he looks. I, of course, think he is absolutely adorable, but would like the input of more informed people of this breed.

Thanks again.

...but how much did you pay for your Newf.

We are going through a reputable breeder and we were expecting to pay $800-$1,200 dollars for a companion dog, but when I finally asked the price they said $1,800. I know testing and everything costs a lot of money, but I thought it was kinda steep for a companion dog. Just wanted to get an idea of what everyone else paid.

Of course we went to visit and I am already attached to the little booger, but my husband is freaking about the price.

I will attach his 4 week photos.

Thanks,
Stacie

On February 15th, 2006, I placed an order through BigPaws for a calendar and a T-Shirt. I received my confirmation but I have still not received my calendar. I did recevie a T-Shirt, although it was not the size I ordered.

I am not sure where else to post this. I have emailed michaelpcampbe ll@gmail.com several times and have gotten no response.

Can anyone help me direct this to the appropriate person.

Thanks,
Stacie

I'm glad Chester is home and doing well. It will be no time before he is up and running again.

Rimadyl is a common pain reliever given for post-operative pain. Nothing that you would want to use long term though.
