Afghan Discussions & Pictures / Afghan pictures - anyone?
« on: March 17, 2005, 10:33:03 am »
I want to see your Afghan.  Because I am a new owner, I want to see pictures and grooming and hair care.  Do you keep the saddle clean?  I am thinking about letting that hair grow in.  Is there any trimming that you do?  Harry came to me in a show coat, so I do not know if anyone trims or does anything special other than keep them bathed and brushed.

She really is beautiful.  My husband and I are amazed by them.  I have never seen one either.  I can't believe you found her in rescue!

Very handsome!  I love doggles.  I am afraid to buy them because they are pretty expensive if they won't wear them.  I run with my dogs and would love to have sunglasses for them.  I just don't think they would leave them on.  They chew everything!

Welcome!  I just found this website yesterday and hope it becomes very active.  I own two big Standard Poodles and an Afghan that I just recently purchased.  He also is a show dog, but I will not show him.  My poodles are rescues.  All three came to live with us within the year!

Hope you figure how to post pictures.

Pet only.  Would like to train Ollie to be a therepy dog because he is so sweet and calm.  He loves to lay his head in your lap and be pet.  Harry was a show dog.  I could show him but do not have the knowledge how.  Oakley, he is just Oakley - my wild child.

What a beautiful pup!  Great expression.   I like the stick he is chewing - better than a table leg!

Affies are different than most dogs.  They are smart, just stubborn.  They are very cat-like.  I have not had him long, but I have done a lot of research.  Sometimes, I think he is smarter than my easy poodles.  He knows how to ignore me and get me to do what he wants!

I love this breed.  They sleep when in the house and run like the devil outside.

Arlene, I too have an Australian Afghan!  I think you have all of my favorite breeds.

Afghan Discussions & Pictures / Harry my new Affie

I am so happy to have this site.  I am new to the Afghan world and will need lots of advice.  This is Harry.  He purchased two weeks ago from a wonderful breeder in Texas.  He is 1 year and 3 months old.  I also have two Standard Poodles that share our home (oh yeah, and 5 Persian cats).
