You never know .... Goliath is 34 1/2 inches at the shoulder and almost 170 lbs. He is no where near done growing yet at 15 months. He was not even close to being the biggest in the litter as a pup .... so you may be in for a big supprise!

Give him a big hug and kiss from me and Goliath.

Matthew

Matt, I hope he gets som of goliath's size. Well I know hne wont get quite as big full grown but he'll be a big boy nonetheless.

I think that we have had this discussion enough times that it is getting old. In my humble opinion .... I dont think that anyone would have gotten an AM without having loved OEM's first (and I still do!). They are a little different ... but they are also very similar.

I believe that the point should be RESEARCH, RESEARCH, RESEARCH, RESEARCH, RESEARCH! Know as much about the dog you are interested in as possible and avoid at all cost impulse decisions. Only with careful RESEARCH and a realistic appraisal of your wants and needs (not to mention always meeting several of the breed and perferably the parents of your puppy) should you decide on a particular dog.

In short .... know what you are getting into and you will not be suprised (unpleasantly) or disappointed later.

Goliath got his name from my wife .... I was shooting for Tiny or Fluffy or Spot .... But I got over-ruled :-(

I still think that the sissy/small dog names would have suited his personality better!

Keep it up! I have pictures of Goliath from the first day home until 1 year sitting in front of the same giant stuffed teddy bear. I took the pix once a month and boy can you see the growth. You will never regret having the pictures later.

Only in my dreams! Then we could start to become a country with a chance of growth ..... instead of a socialist welfare state where the needs of the ignorant and lazy over ride everything else.

While we're at it, can we license people to have children?  :P

You are so lucky...... even my dog runs away from my shoes....

Matthew

Galahad must have felt most helpful today, I think he just wanted to demonstrated how a bad behavior like that looks like lol....

He has not moved much today, BUT he did move from one end of the couch to the other, AND while down he went to pick Chris's "working in the yard" shoes up, went back to couch and planted himself and shoe on top of Malin lol.....

And I guess now is when I should have told him that firm noooo BUT being the nut I am I ran for the camera, thought it was the cutest I had ever seen, My dog is snuggling with daddys shoe  ;D

And Yes after the pic I did take it away from him. Good thing he actually never *crossing my fingers* chews on them, just likes to carry them around. Mind you hehe I never leave mine by the door, just in case  ;D

OEM's as a general rule do pretty well with other breeds.

My 1 year old boy Goliath gets along great with ALL dogs, but actually seems to prefer smaller breeds. His best friends are the neighbors jack russels and the Basenji across the street. He lays down and they jump all over him while he licks them like crazy.

I have heard bad things about Neo's and other (same sex) dogs. Research well before you decide.

Yet another case for licensing owners .... not dogs!

Matthew

Gotta agree, Newf Lover.  Well put!

Thanks, I get so frustrated with the stupid people in our country.  I've been accused of being a racist and that's just another label people use when they are confronted with facts and have no argument.  There are people of all nationalities that celebrate the "Thug" culture and they are all equally guilty of glamourizing and encouraging vicious dog ownership.  That is a fact!

I like your idea .... let the punishment fit the crime. Things used to be that way .... God, what is happening to our country!
