Anything Non-Dog Related / I got my license!
« on: May 07, 2009, 07:56:46 am »
So I know I'm a little late in the age group to be saying this, but I got my license today!! ;D

I've been working on this since last summer when I finally got my permit and today I went in for my test and passed on my first try. I'm so thrilled and very thankful to my boyfriend who taught my how to drive, even put up with me hitting a tree with his car last summer the first time I ever drove, and he still let practice with him! haha Such a good boy <3

Anyways I'm just so happy I have to share with everyone the news. YAY me! :D

FAQs about puppies / Another new addition!

So we got another pup in the household. She's a 9 week old german shepherd named Willow. She was given to my grandpa after she supposedly snapped at someone and he gave her to us. She has been nothing but sweet and playful ever since we got her!

Little Willow

Molly and Felix for the most part, love her.

Happy girl

Remembering those no longer with us. / My Mickey passed away
« on: March 16, 2009, 06:33:43 am »
I haven't had a chance to post this but sadly last Sunday my little mutt, Mickey, passed away.
She had seizures, the vet said most likely from being hit in the head, and she had a really bad seizure that she just didn't wake up from. :'(
My mom called me when I was on my way home from Texas and I was in the airport. She told me to get away from my sister so she could inform me before she told my sister once we got home as Mickey was mostly my sister's dog. I was so heartbroken to hear she died especially that way.
The poor baby, we hadn't even had her for an entire year. Last May my sister, some friends, and I were going through the McDonald's drive thru when we came across her and tossed her into the car with us and brought her home.
She was such a sweet and loving dog with a heart of gold. I don't think she could have been mean even if she tried. I'm definitely going to miss that little girl a lot.
RIP Mickey. :(

I can't remember the last time I posted pics, so here are a few from January.

First my puppy, Molly, in a princess outfit.. she was not thrilled.

And my friend's yorkie puppy, Felix.

Then I took Maggie and Molly with me on a playdate at the beach with my friend and her Lab, Sasha.

Needless to say, neither of them were thrilled.

Happy Sasha

Introduce Yourself to the Forum / Re: Welcome, Kelly! Maggie's New Mom!!!

My Maggie has an incontinent problem and takes pills for them to help her hold her bladder. She's been on them for about 2 years now I believe and she'll be on them for the rest of her life but they have her tremendously, she used to pee in her sleep. Maybe ask your vet about that?

Anything Non-Dog Related / Cats being treated at vermin?
« on: February 17, 2009, 11:52:42 am »
So first I want to say I'm not sure how true this is but this is what I've heard recently.

My "sister" aka very close family friend came over today and was talking to me for a bit. I'm not sure how this came about but toward the end of the conversation we were talking about animals and then she mentioned that something about pests and said "You probably don't want to know how they dispose of the cats at the landfill" that's where her boyfriend works and I replied with "what do they kill them?" She was like yea they throw them in the compactor because they are considered vermin to the garbage and they are told to get rid of them. I told her that if she wanted she could feel free to bring me any cats they get a hold of and I'll take them no problem.

Now I'm very disturbed by that. Is there anything someone could do about that wouldn't that be considered animal abuse in anyway, sure they are suppose to get rid of the cats but what about trapping them and sending them off to the pound? Being crushed alive is no way a humane way to settle that problem. Does anyone have ideas on what to do at all? I'm sickened by the thought of it and I can't understand how anyone could that to any type of living animal.

So I also did some research and found out what landfill it is. I am thinking I'm going to call the place tomorrow and see what they have anything to say about it.

I don't know if anyone was really into this movie or not but when I was at work last night someone mentioned this video to me so I had to find it and watch it. It's definitely really cute, you can tell for the most part the kids are into it too. I just love it.

Anything Non-Dog Related / UGH can my life go anymore downhill?!
« on: December 13, 2008, 08:21:06 pm »
Sorry but I just need to vent.

My life has not been good lately, well for a quite a few years now but that's another story, I seriously just want to murder someone right now.

A couple of days ago someone e-mailed my boss anonymously accusing me and this guy manager at the movie theatre of dating and having intercourse in the booth(upstairs where we start the movies). Because the nitwit didn't know what they were doing they e-mailed it to everyone, including corporate. Regardless corporate would have found out anyways but my boss's boss was not happy at all about it. Me, the guy, and another guy who in the e-mail apparently caught us doing it had to fill out statements saying this never happened. However this still has to go through corporate and the whole thing and then my boss's boss will come out and interview us and we'll find out if we're fired or not. Fun right?

Then today I get a bill from the hospital apparently I've been cut off medicaid so now I have a huge bill to pay when I got absolutely no help while I was there. I was treated like crap, I didn't get a proper diagnosis, and of course I was stuck there for nearly 4 hours waiting in a room by myself. I'm absolutely livid about this and I really don't know what to do at all about it except pay the bill which is apparently due on the 26th of this month and I'm getting no help what so ever from my parents... figures.

And to top it all off. I was closing tonight with another 19 year old girl and when we were getting ready to walk out the doors(me and her being the only ones left there) some SUV pulls up, a guy jumps out and starts banging and screaming for us to let him in. We absolutely flipped out and didn't know what to do at all. We ended up hiding in the office and peeking out every once in awhile to see if they were gone. He was continuously banging on the door and screaming for us to let him in for almost a half hour before he finally left and right as he left we had decided we were going to call the police too, I don't know why we didn't. The scarier part of the situation was that while the doors were locked one was not closed all the way, we found this out as we were putting the security code in and were just about to go close it and leave when they came. Finally after they left we hauled a*s for her car and did our best to leave as fast as we possibly could. I'm still really shaken up about it because I have no idea what they wanted. It's really a scary, scary thing to think about what could have happened. UGH could anything else have made my week better?!

Seriously though why?

Anything Non-Dog Related / interesting dog dream
« on: November 24, 2008, 05:29:47 pm »
I'm having a sort of repeated dog dream with only slight changes, actually it's more of a continuation I guess.

What happens in the dream is Maggie and I are walking down a dirt road when we come across a railroad track going across the road. On the other side of the railroad track is a big black scruffy, but very friendly, looking dog who seems to just want to play with Maggie. I tell her to go play, it's ok, blah blah blah but she doesn't seem at all interested in the dog. In fact she pretty much acts like he isn't even there at all.

The other night something in the dream changed. Maggie continued ignoring him but started walking toward him. I was thinking she was finally going to start playing with him so I stood back and watched. She finally stops on the railroad tracks and starts sniffing around, while the black dog stood on the other side waiting for her. Then out of no where a train starts coming and Maggie is completely oblivious to it. I start calling her and trying to make her come to me but she's ignoring me and just sniffing the ground. Finally I run over to her to grab her collar and pull her to safety but her collar is gone(although the imprint of her collar is still there) so I end up grabbing the scruff of her neck and pull her off the tracks just as the train comes right on us.

That's pretty much how my dream ends, the only thing after that is after the train goes by I'm just staring at the black dog who is friendly as ever and very much focused on Maggie.

Strange dream right?

How about Bambi (for the deer part). I know he was a boy, but it is kinda a girl name.

Bambi was a BUCK! Reclaim the name for the male part of the world. Make Bambi "studly" again.

My mom's name is Bambi, I always find it funny to think of it as a boy's name because of that.

I love chis, congrats! ;D
