Anything Non-Dog Related / Leaving high school with a bang!
« on: June 06, 2008, 01:37:00 pm »
Or actually a blow out. So apparently a couple of seniors decided to let ALL of the air out of the tires on every single one of the school buses. We ended up with a 2 hour delay on our last day of high school. I know I know horrible, but still I think it's hilarious! Anyways I want to know what type of senior pranks did your school do?

Anything Non-Dog Related / O.M.G. Guess What?
« on: June 02, 2008, 02:06:57 pm »
So most of you guys know that I work at my movie theatre. I pretty love it there too. I get along quite well with everyone except 1 person and I'm really in with all the managers. Well Friday night I get a call from the head manager. I call him back and he's like hey Where are you? I tell him I'm in Chicago for a concert and he says well when will you be home and of course I'm like not till about 1 am. So he says well you need to come in an hour early tomorrow if that's ok, so we can talk.
Of course I completely freak out after that telling my friends OMG I'm getting fired and I don't know why. Ahhh I don't want to lose my job, I love it there, blah blah blah. They just tell me to calm the freak down and enjoy the concert. Sooo I go into work the next day, mind you I was waiting for 5 pm to roll around ALL DAY it seemed like forever, and Jim takes me into the office to see Jonathon. I sit down and he asks me if I know why I'm in there. I tell him it's because I'm getting fired? Thankfully he starts laughing and is like why would I fire you? I say umm I don't know why... he says ok then why would I do it? Then he goes on to tell me he's starting to make changes in the movie theatre and he was wondering if I would like to be "brought up" brought up as in Manager. Yep that's right I'm looking at being promoted :D
I've only been working there for about 3 mo and this is technically my first real job IMO. So I'm of course estactic and he had me fill out some paper work for it and will get back to me on if the position is secure to me or not. I'm really really hoping it is. He did talk to 2 other people but from what someone told me my advantage is that he loves me more than the others, so yay on that! ;D
Right now I'm incredibly excited, so wish me luck on that I actually get it!

Helpful Groups & Dogs in Need / Lookit what we got!
« on: May 27, 2008, 07:45:01 pm »
So my mom stopped by work today and saw this little dog running down the road, naturally she picked her and brought her home. She seems to be a small longhair chi? Obviously an older girl with HORRIBLE teeth and some arthritis but other than that in really good shape. Hopefully we'll be able to find her owners soon, she definitely must of just gotten out of the house or something on accident.

She is such a love here are some pics of her cuddling with me when I was watching a movie. Tiny too! Maybe 4 lbs or so.

Not only that but some of her friends did it too.

People. I seriously just don't understand them!

Please get me away from this crazy woman Asap!

Anything Non-Dog Related / Poor Old Squish
« on: May 13, 2008, 09:36:50 pm »
I think most of you guys know about my little old man piggie, Squishy. Well I just noticed tonight that he seems to have a very nasty eye infection, I wiped it clean with a wet rag and then saw that his eye is starting to turn white. :( I'm really hoping nothing is wrong but I fear he might be going blind or something and sadly it's probably because of age. We're going to try and get him to the vet asap but I'm still really worried about my old man, he's already 6! Anyways please keep him in your thoughts, I want my cranky yelling old pigman around a lot longer!

Anything Non-Dog Related / Problem with a sub
« on: April 17, 2008, 06:10:02 am »
So we have this regular substitute teacher on my school, let's call him Jeff, and well Jeff is pretty young about 26 years old and has a sister, I don't know her, that goes to the high school. He's a very relaxed teacher and was subbing regularly for one of my classes after my teacher had surgery. Well he always came and sat by me in class and we would talk, he's a pretty friendly guy. Anyways one day he bothered me by making a lesbian based joke towards me and a girlfriend. It bothered me and I mentioned what he said to a guy friend but he said that Jeff was cool and he didn't mean anything by it so I blew it off. Well Jeff and I continued to be "cool" with each other and talk but after awhile I really got bothered by the fact he would seek me out in class and sit by me the whole hour. I mean I didn't want to chat with my friends when this grown man was listening to my conversations! So I started ignoring him and finally our teacher got back and no more Jeff in my class. Well I saw Jeff the other day in another class(not mine) but next to mine so I thought I was stop by before class and just say hi. So I did and we talked for a second before I moved on. Well last night I went to check myspace and he had an add for me and sent me a message saying basically "hey what's up, how are things going, blah blah blah" Now this is just me. But I was seriously bothered by the fact that he found me on myspace. I never told him I had a myspace nor requested him to add me. I feel extremely weired out by this all and I want to know if I should feel weired about this whole thing or if I'm overreacting. I really feel like I led him to believe I wanted to talk to him more or whatnot so I don't know what to do now, I definitely don't want him to see my myspace, which is thankfull private. So what should I do?

Doberman Discussions / Goodbye Maggie :(
« on: April 02, 2008, 12:54:30 pm »
So I know I don't post a lot here anymore but I've just been so busy and well my life hasn't really been the greatest, I've just been kind of off the computer. Anyways most of you guys know about my situation for the past couple of years and what's going on in my life. But like I just said it hasn't been improving at all. There were times where there was hope but really it's all the same. I guess I've just been holding it in for awhile that I need to get some of it out again.

I have to get rid of Maggie, if we leave. This is literally going to tear me apart but the apartments around here won't accept her. My mom is looking at this one place where my mom's friend works at and she's going to help us get one there. My mom has an appointment and is filling out the application tomorrow. This is going to take a couple of weeks to work out, I'm assuming, but if so then I have to start looking for Maggie's new home. My aunt might take her but I'm kind of iffy on that. I have to talk to her and see what she thinks. I guess I'm just really torn up over the fact that I have to give up the one thing that really makes me feel happy and loved. She just turned 7 on March 21st and what do I give her for her birthday? A new home. How horrible of me.

I seriously hate my dad and I'll never forgive him for taking everything away from me, for making my entire teenage life sucky, for me getting rid of Maggie and my other pets as well. I've put up with so much lately but this is the one thing I don't think I can handle.

Helpful Groups & Dogs in Need / Echo found a home!
« on: March 15, 2008, 09:11:25 pm »
Ok you guys know those pedigree commercials about the shelter dogs. Well there was particular one about a dog named Echo who kept getting passed up.

Here's his video: http://youtube.com/watch?v=_ODC5e3AEa8

Well turns out the sweet boy found a home and they aired a new commercial about it, that I just saw today, of course when I watched it I immediately started bawling like an idiot! Anyways here's the new Echo commercial.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=X2-h1PHRXis

Apparently they have other adopted pedigree commercials as well but I have yet to see them and can't watch them on youtube either because of no sound on my computer. I'm glad to see these follow ups though, how great to know they were adopted!

General Board for Big Dogs with Big Paws / Argh! Maggie won't eat
« on: March 08, 2008, 11:15:34 pm »
I just bought Maggie a food stand and she's absolutely terrified of it! She won't get near her food or water dish at all. I tried baiting her but that won't work, currently there are 2 chicken nuggets in her food dish and she's just sitting across the room staring sadly at it. Any ideas on how to show her she's suppose to eat out of it and it's not going to eat her?

Anything Non-Dog Related / Roxie went to her new home
« on: January 25, 2008, 09:37:13 pm »
Roxie went to her new home today. The couple was very nice and I liked them a lot. They even know/are friends with the woman that adopted Alex(for those who don't know he was our toy poodle we had) from us last year. They don't have any kids or pets, so Roxie is going to be the spoiled princess she's always wanted to be. Wish her luck in her new home with her new parents. They did tell me that I could come visit whenever and I let them know I will definitely do that in a couple of weeks to see how things are. I also assured them she is more than welcome back if anything goes wrong.

As sad as I am about this whole thing and as much as I'm going to miss her. I'm glad she's in a new home. They can definitely do better for her than we could, especially since we still have many problems going on with our lives. I just want her to be happy and have her forever home now.

Goodbye Roxie, I'm missing you like crazy. :(

Anything Non-Dog Related / Sigh, horrible news :(
« on: January 13, 2008, 11:11:25 pm »
My uncle was shot and killed earlier. We just found out and my sister went over to their house and is collecting the kids right now to bring here. I'm not sure what happened yet everyone is still kind of in shock. Please keep my aunt and 2 young girl cousins in your thoughts. They've been going through a horrible time lately and I don't know how my aunt is going to pull through this. :(

Medical Conditions & Diseases / Losing weight?
« on: January 12, 2008, 02:10:05 pm »
So my boyfriend's dog is losing weight like crazy he tells me. She doesn't eat unless his other dog is around, and then of course you know how some dogs are, she'll chow her food. Apparently she has lost about 10 lbs and is just not interested in her food. They took her to the vet and her blood work is fine and they're going to do a biopsy in about 2 weeks if she doesn't start eating. Any ideas what's wrong with her?

When a Rescuer Comes to the Rainbow Bridge

Unlike most days at Rainbow Bridge, this day dawned cold and gray, damp as a swamp and as dismal as could be imagined.

All of the recent arrivals had no idea what to think, as they had never experienced a day like this before. But the animals who had been waiting for their beloved people knew exactly what was going on and started to gather at the pathway leading to The Bridge to watch. It wasn't long before an elderly animal came into view, head hung low and tail dragging. The other animals, the ones who had been there for while, knew what his story was right away, for they had seen this happen far too often. He approached slowly, obviously in great emotional pain, but with no sign of injury or illness. Unlike all of the other animals waiting at The Bridge, this animal had not been restored to youth and made healthy and vigorous again. As he walked toward The Bridge, he watched all of the other animals watching him. He knew he was out of place here and the sooner he could cross over, the happier he would be. But, alas, as he approached The Bridge, his way was barred by the appearance of
an Angel who apologized, but told him that he would not be able to pass. Only those animals who were with their people could pass over Rainbow Bridge.

With no place else to turn to, the elderly animal turned towards the fields before The Bridge and saw a group of other animals like himself, also elderly and infirm. They weren't playing, but rather simply lying on the green grass, forlornly staring out at the pathway leading to The Bridge. And so, he took his place among them, watching the pathway and waiting.

One of the newest arrivals at The Bridge didn't understand what he had just witnessed and asked one of the animals that had been there for a while to explain it to him. "You see, that poor animal was a rescue. He was turned in rescue just as you see him now, an older animal with his fur graying and his eyes clouding. He never made it out of rescue and passed on with only the love of his rescuer to comfort him as he left his earthly existence. Because he had no family to give his love to, he has no one to escort him across The Bridge."

The first animal thought about this for a minute and then asked, "So what will happen now?" As he was about to receive his answer, the clouds suddenly parted and the gloom lifted. Approaching The Bridge could be seen a single person and among the older animals, a whole group was suddenly bathed in a golden light and they were all young and healthy again, just as they were in the prime of life.

Watch, and see" said the second animal. A second group of animals from those waiting came to the pathway and bowed low as the person neared. At each bowed head, the person offered a pat on the head or a scratch behind the ears. The newly restored animals fell into line and followed him towards The Bridge. They all crossed The Bridge together.

"What happened?"

"That was a rescuer. The animals you saw bowing in respect were those who found new homes because of his work. They will cross when their new families arrive. Those you saw restored were those who never found homes. When a rescuer arrives, they are allowed to perform one, final act of rescue. They are allowed to escort those poor animals that they couldn't place on earth across The Rainbow Bridge."
