Looks like they are having a great time out there. My Rottie Tealk has bad hip problems. We go over to my sisters pool, put as life vest on him and he loves it. He will do laps around the pool and tries to race you to the other side.I think he gets aroud better in the water with the vest on because there is no weight bearing on his hips.

Zeva has decided she likes my back deck, so much that she is eating it.
I thought I had a great idea. I mixed cayenne pepper with vegetable oil, let it sit for few days so it would blend, Then I brushed it onto the parts of the deck she was chewing.
Now she has eaten twice as much as before!!!!  :o
I guess she likes hot and spicey wood.
She has all kinds of bones and other chew toys to keep her busy. When she goes out back she always has the other dogs with her, so she should not be bored or lonely. Also it is for short periods of time.
Does anyone have any suggestions of what I could put on the deck to make her stop eating it?  ???

That's one way to keep her busy. It's funny when the ball appears to be chasing her ;D

Treatment & Preventative Meds / Re: Can anything else go wrong?!

This is the time of year for allergies with can promote ear infections. Tesla my Rottie has ear problems. I give her Primrose oil gel caps to help with the allergies. It seems to help in general.I give her one a day it's 1000 mg.
She eats it like a treat.

Great Pyrenees Discussions / Re: Bark Collars
« on: March 23, 2009, 11:20:43 am »
When I had my pyr which was about 20 years ago. She loved to bark. I got her when she was about 4 months old. The people I got her from named her Barkley, which should have been a clue ::) I had no luck all through her long life of getting her to stop barking. I never tried a bark collar as I did not know about them back then. One of my Male neighbors eveen accused her of hampering his performance in bed  :o ??? ::) I told him, don't blame my dog for that!!!

I have a bark collar for my Bluetick Coonhound, which works pretty well, although he has broken about 4 of them. I use the one made by petsafe. You can adjust the intensity of the shock. I got shocked by it and it's not terrible, it just gets their attention. The only reason I use it is because of my crabby neighbors. With a pyr you would probably have to shave a spot otherwise it would not penetrate the fur.
