My grandmother and I took Sanity for a walk today.  We haven't gone since the last time when I wrote about the stupid little dogs running into the road to try and eat Sanity.  With all the job stuff I wasn't even thinking of it till we were past the house and around the corner.  That was when we heard the yapping.  "Great they sniffed out Nee and they're coming to hunt him down"  My grandmother says "They're probably after the black dog" (There's this ancient Lab that follows you for a while then goes back home.  Doesn't attack or anything)  Well we hear the people yelling at the dogs to come back and sure enough this little brown and white one comes tearing around the corner barking and snapping at Sanity.  Well my grandmother, bless her heart, starts stomping after it yelling at it to go home, it ignores her, and goes after Sanity.  Sanity is freaked out because Frammy is acting crazy and this doggy is biting him and not in a fun way.  So he jumps up and hugs me, trying to crawl up on my shoulders, fussing and crying.  Ummmm  Ow.

My grandmother starts chasing the dog and throwing rocks at it and it runs around the corner, staring at us.  Then we hear a car start up and drive like two feet and the dog runs towards it.  The door slams shut, and the car drives another two feet then shuts off.  My grandmother and I look at each other, not beleiving that these people couldn't control these little midget dogs and had to lure them with a car ride.  We were SO looking back to walking past there again.  The lady yelled something and I, who was pretty pissy right about now, said "WHAT!?!?!?!"  She said "I just told my son to hold the dog."  Then she told her daughter "Don't worry she won't let him chase anybody"  What?!?!?! My dog chase?  He was minding his own business!  ARGHHHH

So then ahead of us is the old black dog and this brown dog that kind of looked like Hobo, cept it wasn't nice like Hobo.  Well Sanity's dumb, and he didn't notice this.  So he wants to play with this dog, which the other dog takes as a challenge.  Once again my grandmother runs up to the dog keeping it occupied till Sanity and I pass.  Sanity is then worried because my grandmother isn't with us anymore.  He keeps stopping and looking back and fussing.  I start walking back towards her and I see that the old Lab has gotten a younger Lab (I know they live in the same house because I've seen them both their with the owner who's in a wheelchair, so when his dogs take off he can't do anything about it) and they had started to go after Sanity.  My grandmother says "I'm running out of rocks!" which is funny because we live in an old quarry.  So Sanity and I start back home, and my grandmother follows shortly.  The whole time saying all the things that we all say "Those dogs are horrible, if it had bit Sanity Sanity would be blamed when he was just walking along, they're so mean all he was trying to do was climb inside you (Thanks for the visual Fram), they're just like little people, they've got big mouths and they don't know when to shut up, (Thanks again Fram, says the 5 foot tall grand daughter)" but at least she was supportive.

Sigh.  I'm gonna bring a camera next time.  And no, our town doesn't have leash laws, because we've called and complained about dogs before.  There's nothing we can do unless one of them attacks us.  And poor Sanity can't even go for his walks without one of these things trying to make their mark on him.  Poor baby.  He was so good.

Food Discussion & Information / Doggie Vitamin water
« on: August 26, 2005, 01:59:58 pm »
I went to get Sanity food today (I found the new Innova Evo for "Cheap" so I'm gonna try it), and when I went to check out they had these bottles of what looked like juice, and it said "Free Take one!"  It's Vitamin doggy water.  I laughed hysterically.  HOwever everyone laughed when I asked a certain member of BPO over my cell phone which flavor I should get.  "Of what? she said, Of doggy vitamin water "OH......... MY.......... GOD!"  Everyone in the store busted out laughing this individual was so loud.  Luckily no one heard her when we were talking about how cute the guy helping me was :D

Setter Discussions & Pictures / Princess Araby
« on: August 26, 2005, 01:13:21 pm »
Araby is a loud mouth.  Meaning that when the baby next door is asleep (We asked for her nap schedule) the boys can be outside but Araby can't because she won't shut up.  Well she was very cuddly the other day and Mommy went camera crazy.

Daddy is a PIA and won't let his pic be taken.  Araby is obviously very depressed about this.

Daddy forgot Mommy had the camera.  Muwahahahaha

"Uncle Buggy what do you mean my breath stinks?"

"Mom what's he laughing at?"

"OK you bore me"

"Lets lick Daddy's feet!"  And you wonder why she has stinky breath.  AND YES I KNOW HE HAS SANDAL TAN LINES!  I HATE THEM!!!!!!!!!!!

Anything Non-Dog Related / Job interview updates
« on: August 26, 2005, 01:06:04 pm »
Well the first place I was kind of dissapointed in.  It was in a bad neighborhood, I'd only be making $8.50 and working 20 hours a week.  The lady was nice enough and everything.  But the second job OMG I want to work there so bad!  Everyone there was so awesome.  I talked to the owner for a long time.  He said that what they hire is the personality.  Everything else can be trained.  He said I was a "Devious Woman" and he liked that  ;)  I'm on his short list for second interviews but there was a girl that the other interviewer liked, and they interviewed 8 people yesterday.  He also said that he didn't know if he wanted me to work downstairs (As a receptionist) I might be better suite to the creativity department.  YAY!

ANyways, here's my quandry (I could say problem, but quandry is just such a cool word).  The first lady is making her decision today.  I won't hear about a second interview from the advertising agency till Monday.  Im terrified she's going to call and say I have the job, and I really want the other one.  If I say no to her and don't get this job I'll be up S*** creek, but if I say yes and get this other job I'll feel bad for leaving her hanging.  I'll be making more $$$$$ at the other place, doing something I love, but I need the work.  What should I do?!?!?! :-[

« on: August 20, 2005, 10:30:59 pm »
I just found a CD that has a ton of old Araby and Hobo pics.  Because there are so many, I'm not going to narrate, but leave you to your imagination.  I'm sorry they're not in any particular order.

Anything Non-Dog Related / Real Life VS Internet.
« on: August 20, 2005, 05:27:40 pm »
The boys love this Web Series called "Red VS Blue".  It's these guys who play the X Box game Halo but instead of playing the game, they make movies with it.  It's pretty cool.  Well awhile ago they did this bit called "Real World VS Internet" and it's HYSTERICAL!

PS.  There are some adult themes in it.  Nothing bad, but if you have curious little kids, I wouldn't watch it with them around.  Unless you want to answer some interesting questions.

Anything Non-Dog Related / My grandmother is hilarious!
« on: August 19, 2005, 07:53:58 am »
My grandmother has always been a little dog person.  I think the biggest dog she ever had was a cocker.  Well, I'm living with them because of some medical problems, to help them out.  Of course Sanity is with me.  Well it's taking her a lot to get used to, and she can't get over what a baby and a wimp he is.  (Might I just throw in here that my grand mother is 56 years old, and I'm 22 so everyone thinks we're mother and daughter)

Well on Sanity's birthday she came with me to Petco, where the only one who came to see him was a 6 year old girl who just loved and snuggled on him for a good 10 minutes.  Everyone else when they saw him would go down another aisle!  Poor baby.  My grandmother didn't get it "But he's a big wuss!" she said.

Then last night we were walking him (We live in a "Sub division" in the middle of no where.  Pretty much pre fab housing for people who want to get back to the country.  No traffic so we walk in the middle of the road), and he was being a good boy when we pass this house where this mutant chihuahua and this Boston terrier come tearing out snarling and snapping.  Sanity sits down and starts talking to them, all happy and pawing at them (Trying to get them to play).  THe boston is just running in circles barking and the Chihuahua is snapping then he turns around and bites Nee in the butt!  (My dogs all have serious butt biting issues lately).  Well the lady who'd been screaming at them to come back finally gets up and scoops up the Chihuahua saying "What are you thinking?  That dog's going to eat you!"  I said "Well if you go by the bite marks on my dog's @ss I'd say it was the other way around."  My grandmother glared at me for swearing, and said "He just wanted to play.  He really is a big baby."  Then the lady says "Well you need to keep a dog that big under control!"  Mind you Nee was SITTING the entire time.  From the time that the little yappers ran up to the time that we started to walk away.  Just when the lady turn to walk away my grandmother says "Wow those little dog people are annoying huh?"

General Board for Big Dogs with Big Paws / BPO Injuries
« on: August 18, 2005, 08:36:43 pm »
Today Sanity went to give me a hug and when he came down his nail ripped into my arm from the inside of my elbow all the way down almost to my wrist.  I thought it was a scrape and I look down a few minutes later and said "Oh ****, that's alot of blood."  My arm is wrapped up in guaze now, but it got me thinking, how many times, in my year of life with Sanity has he injured me?

The first night away from the breeders he slept on my chest (As I slept on Moni's couch).  He uncerimoniousl y popped me in the nose, which then spouted forth blood.  I was actually very excited, I informed Moni "Yay!  My first official Dane injury!", but there were more to follow.

Mayhaps we shall only go with the big ones here, as the bitten tongues from head butts, twisted ankles from holes in the yard, dislocated shoulders from random on leah airborne moments, and bruises from general rough housing are far too numerous to mention.  There's the black eye, from him punching me in the head when I talked on the phone too long for his liking.  (OMG what did Matt do to you!?!?!?!?!)  The bruised ribs from smashing me into the car when he bolted after a bird.  (I think the ribs left imprints on the car)  The swollen and bruised shin bone (those who've had it KNOW how much it hurts) from a zoomie attack gone horribly horribly wrong.  And of course this recent gem which burns like a mother....... Hubbard.

Do these suck?  Yes.  Are they a typical BPO trait?  Most likely.  Do they happen to little dog people?  I doubt it.  Is the pain and threats to your very health and existence worth it?  Totally.

OK now share your BPO injury stories.  I KNOW YOU HAVE THEM!

Mixed Breed Discussion / Hobo's butt is falling off!
« on: August 15, 2005, 06:40:08 pm »
He's blowing coat right now but only on his arse.  It's got big huge clumps that are just sitting there, and if they get bumped they come off.  This upsets Hobo very much and he tries to bite the hair, or whoever's pulling it out (I'm SORRY!  I can't help it!  I'm one of those people that has to push buttons just because they're there, or if I have a zit that's nowhere ready to be popped I have to try anyways)

It looks so bad!  People can see it from the street and Hobo's so depressed.  We've Zoom Groomed him to within an inch of his life and it's still coming out.  We have piles of dog hair all through the house (More than usual), and Sanity's in heaven because he likes to chew hair like gum.  The problem arises when he discovers the source of this hair and tries to pull it directly from Hobo's butt, which obviously upsets him very much.  I'm off to go take pictures!

Anything Non-Dog Related / OMG I missed BPO so bad!
« on: August 14, 2005, 02:48:37 pm »
I haven't had computer access since Thursday afternoon.  I thought I was going to DIE!  I couldn't get in at all the other day, so I didn't have any BPO.  I was very sad.  Then, today, Sanity was going after this fly that's been annoying him all week.  The fly's been hiding in the blinds so Sanity can SEE him and HEAR him but can't get to him.  Well today Sanity decided "Screw it" and charged after him, cracking his skull against the window and falling down.  Of course I laughed, but quickly started freaking out when he wasn't getting back up.  I tried picking him up, but he outweighs me by, well alot now, (Now that I think he could have had a spinal cord injury and I was throwing him everywhere I want to throw up).  While I was calling for help he started screaming bloody murder.  I was immensely happy because this meant he wasn't dead, so I go running over to him.  I'm cradling him (My friend Jim on the phone, which I threw God only knows where when Sanity started screaming, is freaking because he thought I passed out.) and Sanity's punching me in the face, clawing me up, I'm trying to calm him down, I'm bawling, total chaos right?  Well on TV the doorbell rings and that #*^@ing dog JUMPS up, runs to the door and barks with his tail wagging like nothing happened.  ARGHHHHHHHH!!!!!!

Oh yeah and 45 minutes later the ambulance Jim called for me showed up.

How was your weekend?
