Anything Non-Dog Related / Question for those who've quit smoking
« on: November 25, 2005, 09:17:42 pm »
Matt stopped smoking about a week ago.  He's been using the patch on it's highest dose. (As the pharmacist said he should with the amount and type of cigarettes he'd been smoking).  Well he has a rash under where the patch is, which is normal I guess.  But then he says that for the first hour of having it on he says it feels like "Little gnomes are under the skin biting my muscle tissue".  Then he gets "Morning sickness" with naseau and cramps for another three hours.  On the bright side he doesn't even want to think of smoking anymore.  YAY!  On the not so bright side he's getting sick.  He's been hacking up massive quantities of brown phlegm (The tar from 5 years of smoking 1-2 packs a day), his throat is really sore (But came back negative for strep), and he's wicked wicked dizzy.  In fact he didn't wear the patch at all today and he's passed out cold right now with chest pains and he can't see straight.  We went to the ER Thanksgiving night and he came back OK, and someone suggested to me he might be allergic to the patch.  I was just wondering if any of you guys had been through anything like this.  He's my baby and I'm so worried about him!  :'(

Anything Non-Dog Related / Back from my interviews!
« on: November 24, 2005, 04:33:40 pm »
Well my busy day is now over.  The tanning place was just a run through of what the job will entail and if I'm still interested to call them Monday or Tuesday.  Then I go to the puppy place.

First off the directions I got for the tanning place SUCKED and I was 5 minutes late!  So I decided to leave early for the puppy one.  I got there half an hour early.  They were doing construction and I was totally lost so I stop the car and roll down the window.  Ever wanna feel good about yourself?  Stop at a construction site.  I got all kinds of whistles and cat calls and naughty things shouted to me.  :P  I ask this guy where I can park and he walks towards the car.  Nee sticks his head out the window and yells at him.  "DON'T YOU GO NEAR MY MOMMY!"  Tee Hee.  Guy poops his pants, tells me where to park.  More cat calls and whistles.  I park the car and try to call the number I have for the place.  Busy.  Call grandmother have her give me number to other location.  That lady is a big fat waste of time.  Finally I decide to suck it up and walk past the construction workers (I'm wearing heels and the parking lot is covered in ice so I'm walking like I have a stick up my bum) and ask them how to get in the building.  Guy I ask blushes, and points to the door.  OMG the DOOR why didnt I think of that?

This place is AWESOME!   THeir main business is daycare, and the system they have set up is amazing!  They DO have benefits, which is something I was worried about and I want to work there so bad!  They don't have anythng definite set up yet but she said she would be getting back to me.

Now to sit and wait!

Due to a convo in chat, (In which I didn't agree with the outcome) I leave it to you, the wonderful members of BPO to vote.  Which looks better?  Ang in soft and sweet Curls?  Or Ang in the sleek and sultry straight look?

(The last pic I chose simply because it's Andi's favorite.  Sigh.... back when I was tanning....)

So I had to post pics.  I also posted pics of Jaqui the kitten eating Nee's bone, and me trying to pose like Nee.  (Who wasn't really posing but trying to avoid his psycho mommy and her obnoxious camera) Because I'm a doof.  And I know I look like crap, I have no make up on and a fro that'd make Don King jealous.  Please don't let children look at this.

Games & Jokes / What does your dessert say about you?
« on: November 22, 2005, 01:47:05 pm »
No cheating.
Pick your dessert, then look to see what psychiatrists think about you! After taking this dessert personality test, send this e-mail on to others, but when you do, be sure to put your choice of dessert in the subject line.

If all of the desserts listed below were sitting in front of you, which would you choose? (Sorry, you can only pick one!)

1) Angel Food
2) Brownies
3) Lemon Meringue
4) Vanilla Cake/Chocolate Icing
5) Strawberry Short Cake
6) Chocolate Cake/Chocolate Icing
7) Ice Cream
8) Carrot Cake

NO. You can't change your mind once you scroll down! So think carefully what your choice will be!

OK - Now that you've made your choice, this is what research says about you!

1. Angel food - Sweet, loving, cuddly. You love all warm and fuzzy items.. A little nutty at times. Sometimes you need an ice cream cone at the end of the day. Others perceive you as being childlike and immature at times.

2. Brownies - You are adventurous, love new ideas, are a champion of underdogs and a slayer of dragons. When tempers flare up, you whip out your saber. You are always the oddball with a unique sense of humor and
direction. You tend to be very loyal.

3. Lemon Meringue - Smooth, sexy, & articulate with your hands, you are an excellent after-dinner speaker and a good teacher. But dont try to walk and chew gum at the same time. A bit of a diva at times, but you have many friends.

4. Vanilla Cake/Chocolate Icing - Fun-loving, sassy, humorous. Not very grounded in life; very indecisive and lack motivation. Everyone enjoys being around you, but you are a practical joker. Others should be cautious
in making you mad. However, you are a friend for life.

5. Strawberry Short Cake - Romantic, warm, loving. You care about other people and can be counted on in a pinch. You tend to melt. You can be overly emotional at times.

6. Chocolate Cake/Chocolate Icing- You love to give as well as receive. Very creative, adventurous, ambitious, and passionate. You have a cold exterior but are warm on the inside. Not afraid to take chances. Will not
settle for anything average in life. Love to laugh.

7. Ice Cream - You like sports, whether it be baseball, football, basketball, or soccer. If you could, you would like to participate, but you enjoy watching sports. You dont like to give up the remote control. You tend to be self-centered and high maintenance.

8. Carrot Cake - You are a very fun loving person, who likes to laugh. You are fun to be with. People ! like to hang out with you. You are a very warm hearted person and a little quirky at times. You have many loyal
friends.

Helpful Groups & Dogs in Need / Explosion in WV Shelter

PERMISSION TO CROSSPOST - PLEASE CROSSPOST EVERYWHERE

11/22/05 approximately 3:00 pm

It is with the heaviest of hearts that I write this post. I can't stop crying. We need help!

There's been a gas explosion at the Mason County shelter in Point Pleasant WV. It happened during the installation of the new heating system.

All of the following information was gathered in the first hour after the explosion. Details may change as things settle down and volunteers get there to help assess the situation.

All of the staff members made it out alive. Danielle, the shelter director, has suffered smoke inhalation from going back in to rescue animals.

Of all the cats/kittens at the shelter, only one made it out alive. It had to be resuscitated. No idea if it will live.

It is believed that all of the puppies died in the fire and smoke...the staff couldn't get to the puppy or cat rooms to pull them out.

They were able to get to the large dog kennels and pull out a lot of the dogs. They basically pushed them out the door and the dogs are running loose. Not all got out. Some died in the initial explosion, others probably of smoke inhalation. Initial estimate is that approximately 50-60 dogs were pushed out the door by the dedicated kennel staff who refused to give up trying to save them.

At the moment, the building appears to be a total loss. All they have is possibly the use of a few outside pens. The remaining dogs are being rounded up now.

It's cold in WV...there's no indoor place to house these animals.

Supplies needed (I'm sure this list will grow)

Dog food

Water & food bowls

Leashes & collars

They need a building...can someone in or near Mason County WV loan them the use of a vacant building until they can move these dogs out to rescues? For location purposes, their zip code is 25550. Shelter is located in Point Pleasant.

The rescues they work with on a regular basis have been contacted and hopefully will be able to take some dogs into foster care.

This is the home of the Mason County Animal Welfare League (MCAWL), a group of volunteers that have been trying to make this a no-kill shelter. If you've seen any posts about them recently, you know how hard they've been working to help these animals. Email contacts are volunteers who are not located at the shelter, so anyone wishing to help can still reach them via the email address on the website: MasonCAWL@yahoo.com

Here is the Petfinder site: http://masoncounty.petfinder.com

As we find out which dogs are alive, we will put the word ALIVE next to their name on the site.

PLEASE CROSSPOST EVERYWHERE

I have another interview with the tanning salon.  I must be the next step of their mission to stamp out Pillsbury Dough Boy Pastiness.  It's Friday at 10AM.  Which sucks.  I've liked sleeping in till.... 11ish.  But if I get money, benefits and a honey gold skin color out of it it'll be worth it.

I just sent my resume into a dog care place that's going to be opening a new facility.  Its an hour from me (Almost all highway) but if I can bring Nee it's well worth it.  I'd LOVE to get a dog related job, and it'd be a great place to meet new people.

Here's the site.

I'm not trying to get over Matt persay but I need to occupy myself.  I decided to put myself on HotorNot.com and see what that does (Because the massive legion of men that Holly promised haven't beat down my door).  I got some replies right away.  Most of them attractive.  One was from a guy who was passable in his photo, according to his bio he's a cowboy.  But what he wrote was really sweet.
--------------
Good things come in small packages. I have a tendency to spoil and pamper girls. I have a big heart. My personality is a cross between a Tiger and a Teddy Bear.

I know we will have a ton of fun, laughs and adventures together. If you think you can keep up to me, I look forward to hearing from you.

I have MSN messenger, my e-mail address is *******@hotmail.com

Cheers,

Trent
-----------

Once I added him to my Messenger I could see his contact card which I clicked on.  First pic is a Orange and white Chihuahua.  Crap.  A little more.  Yeah he's not even close to being as attractive as I thought.  And he takes pics of his own butt.  And nalf naked women (Thanks for pointing that one out Andi)  Great.  UNDO THE EMAIL!

He signs on. Crap.  His Sign on Name is "Save a Horse, Ride this Cowboy".  HAHAHAHAHA.  Dork.  I've added some of the IM for comdeic relief.
-----------

(This is the FIRST thing he says to me)

Save a horse ride this cowboy!!!  You are sure cute and cuddly
 Ang  Thank you.......
Save a horse ride this cowboy!!!  Your Welcome
Save a horse ride this cowboy!!!  You could come into my arms
Save a horse ride this cowboy!!!  Right now
Save a horse ride this cowboy!!!  And I would hold you hight
Save a horse ride this cowboy!!!  tight
Ang  Moving a little fast aren't we?
Save a horse ride this cowboy!!!   You have to love
Save a horse ride this cowboy!!!   In order to be loved
-----------------

K.  Weirdo.  I'm ignoring him now.  Then he comes out with this.
---------------

Save a horse ride this cowboy!!!  You are so sweet
Save a horse ride this cowboy!!!  You can do anything
Save a horse ride this cowboy!!!  And I will like you
Save a horse ride this cowboy!!!  And your big dog
Ang  Yeah I'm one of those love or hate people
Ang  Nothing in between
Save a horse ride this cowboy!!!  Good
Save a horse ride this cowboy!!!  I am sure I will love you
Save a horse ride this cowboy!!!  And hate you
Save a horse ride this cowboy!!!  But look forward to making up
-----------------
AGHHHHHHH!  Then he goes on to tell me he's a Momma's boy (No thanks already have one of those at home.  And he's much cuter than you are.)  I say something like I have to go to bed.  He says "Sweet Dreams Princess", then says that he's a Prince and he looks forward to treating me like the Princess I am.  I say "Good Night" (read:  Leave me alone you crazy man!) and he says "Not without a Goodnight Kiss!"  K..... yeah you're a freak.

I hold more promise for another guy that wrote me a note.  He's buying a membership to the group just so he can write me.  And he's pretty cute.  If I don't find a guy through this junk it's at least good entertainment!

Anything Non-Dog Related / North East BPOers, Find me a kitten!
« on: November 18, 2005, 02:19:17 pm »
My grandmother is dropping hints left and right that she wants a kitten.  After Nee found Naiomi (Little black kitten I gave to my mom) in the woods she started taking him back there all the time to find more kittens.  Today she just randomly said "I want a kitten".  Thing is they HAVE to be raised with Big Dogs as Nee is a mommy wanna be, and well, he can be intimidating.  She had a kitten a while ago that she LOVED but she got out and the foxes ate it.  The rescues here won't adopt unless she comes with me, plus the Neener factor.  And (She's weird) she won't buy a kitten without my Grandfather's permission but if one shows up, she won't turn it away.  I know some of you MUST know where I can find one or if there's any in your neighborhood, maybe we can meet up?

If you know of anything PM me!  Thanks.

Ang
