Oh, Ann!!!  I sing "Copacabana" (but it's kittycabana) to my cat Keo!!!
Jenn

Oh wow, how crazy is this?!!?  I had a cat named KeoKeo. She ran off last year - she was 11 years old.

Well look at that! How did you find that Khiori? You are fast!

Sadly, I think it's what I do for a living.  Look things up on the web.  Wish it paid better LOL

Wow, that's really neat!  Welcome!

Followed this from another thread here, to another thread on another forum to find this tidbit.  Too cool!

Only big dogs allowed.

We're not quite sure what would happen if a Chihuahua owner posted at www.bigpawsonl y.com, but maybe we don't want to know. A bustling destination for those with large or giant dogs (23 inches tall and 60 pounds is the suggested minimum), the Web site hosts a number of discussion boards that cover everything from rescue to diet, as well as specific breeds. May the Newf be with you.

Hi Christine - what a cute "howler" you have!  Newfies who talk like that are just the cutest.

I took my dogs to church a couple times hee hee.  Everyone loved them.  I would take the dogs to our church picnics too.  They were a hit :)

Solo is Starr's Solodancer.  He was a singleton survivor of a twin birth.  Leo is a mix.  The rescue group named him "Leo"

We got Solo when he was about 7 or 8 months old.  Around when he was almost a year old some friends were staying with us and we were talking about the dogs.  They suggested we have Solo "de-drooled".  Both Sean and I were horrified at what they said and we told them so.  Sean moreso than me.  Anyway, Solo is now about 6 1/2 years old.  We haven't seen these "friends" in 5 years.

I get confused when ppl talk about newfies, then I realize they mean the PEOPLE of Newfoundland lol.  Welcome to Big Paws Only!

btw, I don't see our beloved breed often either.  In fact, the first newfoundland dog I saw that didn't belong to me I freaked out thinking they had stole our dog lol.  I think I was about seven years old. The other dog's name was Vitamin.  I'll never forget that day.

I love watching Leo dream.  He runs and woofs and makes all kinds of noises.  It amazes me he doesn't wake himself up.  Sometimes Solo will howl in his sleep.  FREAKY!  I've been told that Newfoundlands only howl when an important Newfoundland dog has died.  It's such a sad and soulful sound.

Ok, let me know what kind of hikers you all are (speed, time travel, length, whatever).  Then I'll find something suitable for us all.  Solo has trouble with heat but if it's cooler he's ok to go (otherwise he doesn't go far).  I think in my group, I'm the weakest link though lol.  I'll pm my number so you all can call when you get here.

Medical Conditions & Diseases / Re: For Discussion: Cloning Dogs??
« on: August 03, 2005, 02:44:30 pm »
I didn't read the whole article.  And I think the puppy (the picture I saw at least) was incredibly cute.  But I'm very.... apprehensive about cloning dogs.. or cats, or sheep, or people, or or or.  I just see so much opportunity to exploit that it truely frightens me.  I hope that there will be a world wide kind of set of rules of conduct.  However, that might be asking too much :\

It might also be a food allergy.  Leo will rub his face all over after eating.  He's got some mild allergy I guess?  Anyway, it *might* be your dog's food.  Is there a particular time when it seems more frequent/frenzy?
