omg, I'm crying over the vanilla memory.  That's incredible.

For my Khiori-angel.  I will always remember teaching her how to swim and how seriously she took it.  She just loved that.  And teaching her how to pick blackberries.  She and I would race around trying to get all the good ones before the other. I miss her terribly.  She only lived to be 2.5 years old and has been gone longer than she was alive.  But she left an indelible mark on my heart.

Solo - I will always remember him loving CARROTS!!  Nut doggie.  He loves his veggies!  Oh and his bounces.  He constantly bounces hee hee  But mostly, I'll remember how he took care of Khiori when she would have seizures.  So gentle with her.

Leo - the first night he came here after he was dropped off by the rescue group.  They left him with some stuffed toys, a couple baggies of homemade doggie biscuits and lots and lots of tears.  That first night I found him wandering with a baggie of the biscuits and he brought them to me like "Can I have one?"  What a sweet sweet boy.  He slept that night with his head on his stuffed elephant's body.  My little freckled boy, Leo.

Solo is the same way (sleep sleep sleep).  But I think he does it out of boredom since he can stay awake if we go out for a day trip.  Leo on the other hand is go go go go go.

That's so cool, don't you love it??  Khiori-puppy (now passed) and Leo both had/have Aussie shepherd in them.  I was telling someone about that.  They asked why I had Aussie shep mixes.  I didn't know how to tell him that herders tend to be ... outgoing lol.

Marit - Yes, Solo has those melting eyes :)  I love to look into them.  He's got this cool thing about his eyes.  One eye is rimmed with a black third eyelid and the other side is white.  You can see the black in one of the pictures.

Jabear - That's funny about Bear staying close by to you.  Solo is the same.  Leo on the other hand - we usually just see his butt LOL

I think it really depends on the dog and the cat.  My cat hated the dogs.  So Solo loved to chase her.  Leo liked to sniff her fur.  She hated that but Leo spent about 2 looooong years making friends.  Finally she accepted him - but only if no one was looking.  If we looked she'd wack him on the nose and run away then Solo would see her running and he'd chase her, and Leo would chase Solo to see what he was doing.  I think I had an evil cat. ha ha.  Seriously though - it's all in both the cat and the dog.  Newfies don't have a strong prey drive, but some are stronger than others.  I have a strong one.

Thank you, Jabear!  We try to do things with them that keep them moving and keep us all interested and happy.  They just love to play in the water.  But mostly, they just want to be where we are :)  They're my babies lol

Time marches on and we were in the middle of May.  Solo stayed on these boulders while we hiked a little further on to find the water fall.  He only had to wait a little while - it was just above him.

The we were on a hike to a peak.  One the way back Solo got tired and took a snooze in the snow.
