Great Pyrenees Discussions / Re: Yuck Frozen Poop Eater!
« on: December 15, 2005, 02:21:50 pm »
Ya, my little scottie is a pooper, too.  I remember asking the vet about it thinking there was something missing in her diet...no such luck!  He said "where do you think they got the saying "shit eating grin" from?"  I tried that product but to no avail.  She had gotten out of the habit when my other scottie died and there was no other dog here.  She didn't seem to do it when we got Mike.  But, she just started doing it again and getting very sick at night.  Dan and I were just talking about it.  She seem to start doing it again when we switched to Nutro Natural Choice.  Must be the nice firm stools that mikey produces.  I just hope Mike doesn't start doing it.  It is soooooooo gross.  I just try to keep the area clean all the time.  I sometimes wonder about lying in wait with a super shooter squirt gun and see what happens.....bu t, by now I would be shooting icicles!!!

Shana....I don't know if I have the heart to do the lemon juice thing.  What I do if he gets to carried away is just grab him by the side of the head and do a face to face with him and say "NO BITE"....then he realizes he pushed to hard and stops.  I know that this will eventually pass...but, I guess I have to admit it is rather endearing!  He has such a silly look on his face when he does it!!  I think you know that look!! He is still mouthing me, too.  Dan says I spoil him rotten...I admit I do, but how can one help but do that.  He performs well for me at obedience training and in the field.  I think the interaction that goes on between Mike and I is the best medicine I could ever have and he has a great deal to do with me staying healthy!!  So...spoiling him? Yes, but why not.

I agree with Marit completely.... .and if they did this to you they have most likely done this to others.  And, just because one attorney won't take your case there are others that will.  I wonder if there is a site for legal questions.  All of us up in Minnesota are with you on this!!!   Hugs just arent' enough for what you are going through.

I agree....Mike is in that phase right now....He will come up first and bump me hard with his nose to say Hey, Mom....I want some lovin!!  If I didn't pay attention to that I might get this little nip in the back of the arm or my butt!!!  It is really a little nip with a big set of teeth.  I realize that this is a phase in his life and it will end so I just really try hard not to react by laughing or anything else.  I wait a minute and then give him lots of loving...that is really what he wants..his huggies and smoochies.  Then he will just stand by me while I keep my hand on him and he lets me go back to what I am doing.  I know he loves me dearly and he knows how much I love him and that he is "Always My Hero"!

I am still so totally AMAZED that this came out so good!!!  I just think of that poor puppy out there by herself....my heart justs aches.  I sure hope she recovers fully from this!!  When I take Mike out in the woods with me I always worry about traps even though I am in parks that don't allow any type of hunting I just don't trust some people!!!  I remember a friend of mine took her dog running the bike trail between Chisholm and Buhl and she lost him just briefly just to find him being strangled in a snare.....they were lucky and she freed him.  I just haven't forgotten that.   I am just so glad that yours turned out good, too.  Must have been all the positive thoughts from all the BPO group, right???!!

Well, Mike though obedience training was sooooooooooo boring after his romp in the woods today.  It was like....You want me to sit how many more times?  Can we go home now.  Actually, he did the rally stuff pretty good....it was more fun than the usual stuff.
