I LOVE it! I got one side of Harley done (one full bag later  :o ) and I can pet her now and no fur comes off  ;D. Crazy all her under coat is coming off. She must feel sooo much better now poor girl. I was holding the fur in my hands and it was sooo hot. Now I have to get the cat done.

This is the caption that goes with it.

Some days we just get stuck and bogged down.

But all you can do is smile and wait for someone to kindly

help you out of the rut you've gotten yourself wedged into.

Anything Non-Dog Related / RANT ON THE WORLD
« on: March 03, 2008, 03:10:11 pm »
Ok now I have to rant after the whole marine thing

Just last thursday we found a dog in our yard (over 30 blockes from our house, amazing he wasn't hit by a car) called the owner and they asked us if we wanted a dog! We took him to the emerg vet as it was late (1 AM) and the pound was closed. They took him to the pound where they will keep him for 10 days to see if they owner claims him. If not the SPCA gets him and puts him up for adoption. The SPCA is a no kill shelter. Hopefully he will find an awesome home.

Then the next morning I wake up to find Tim's 91 Jeep stolen, (we didn't put theft on it  ::) Now we know better) We were moving and we had a bunch of stuff in there so that is why they stole it. At least we still have our new Jeep, but it is so creapy that people were watching us, we didn't get to bed until about 1:30am and were up at 5am! They stole about $2000 worth of stuff in the Jeep, and the Jeep.
But it's just stuff right? Still pi%$&^T me off. Why do people take stuff that doesn't belong to them?

On a better note we are in our new house and almost all unpacked!

Done ranting, feel free to rant as well ;D

Treatment & Preventative Meds / AHH Harley ate grapes!
« on: November 06, 2007, 12:03:55 pm »
Ugh what a day I had yesterday. Tim forgot his lunch and or course Harley didn't want it to go to waste! I zipped home at lunch and of course she ate the egg sandwich, left the orange, carrotts and banana. But ate the grapes! And there was quite a few of them. She looked fine, no vomit, took her out and she peed and pooped. I called the vet when I got back to work and they said she should be fine she didn't eat enough to cause worry but they would do blood work. I watched her all night. No vomiting, she was full of energy, no booty blow out. Took her to the vet, they squeezed her in before they were even open, did blood work on her, ran the tests right away for me and she is fine! WOOHOO! I have a few added gray hairs but I am so glad she is OK. No more grapes in this house.

Anything Non-Dog Related / Feeding Cat RAW
« on: October 28, 2007, 11:09:41 am »
I'm switching my cat to a raw diet. Does anyone else feed thier cats raw diets. With Harley it was easy, and I don't have to worry about the bones. But I know cats can be picky and bones are essential to the raw diet. Just wondering if any other raw feeders feed their cats raw too.

So Harley was finally not crated. She was doing so well for the past year. She wasn't getting into anything ect. Well the past two months she has been such a brat! She has been getting into the fridge eating what she can get her paws on. Then we got a child lock for the frige, well she started getting into the garbage! Then she managed to break the child lock.  :o Who is she? Houdini? How does she manage to get into this stuff? So now she is back to being crated during the day.  :-\ It's too dangerous for her to be out, she is going to eat herself sick! That and she is eating all our groceries!  :o Never mind the terrible twos I am going through the terrible three/fours LOL
But I still love her to pieces.  ;D

Food Discussion & Information / Raw feeding question
« on: May 09, 2007, 05:03:02 am »
The raw food that I get for Harley is pre packaged, (called mountain Dog) made in Alberta. (Local for me)  We have started Harley on Turkey and Chicken, the meat is not ground it is in chunks. The 2 kinds that we have gotten have been with veggies and bone, and one with meat and bone only. I also feed her beef tripe and she gets 1 raw egg as well (not every day though) I am going to agg organs to her diet and other meats as well. And some bone too. She is doing great on this new diet. Just wondering if I should be adding anything else?

Groans, Gripes, Brags & Boasts / GRRRR Mean people
« on: May 08, 2007, 03:06:09 am »
Since I have started feeding raw I joined a new email/group that all about raw feeding. Well needless to say they are not the nicest people in the world. And I will not be asking them any questions. They tear everyone one apart unless they feed exactly what they feed. Ugh, so glad that BPO is not like that.

« on: April 20, 2007, 10:56:55 am »
I think that Harley may have a hot spot in between her toes, it is really red and kinda moist in there. I called the vet but they don't have any appointments available until May! But I can drop her off in the morning and pick her up at night, which I don't mind doing they love her there. But the earliest is Monday. In the mean time I don't know what to do. Any idea's?

Helpful Groups & Dogs in Need / ROCKY our new foster
« on: March 13, 2007, 04:58:21 pm »
So we are getting a new foster. This guy is a rotti shep mix. He is 2 years old and 20lbs underweight. The original owners gave him up because he is too big he knocked over their child and the child got hurt. They did have a new home for him, but the new owners abandoned him.  >:(  :'( So a person that rescues horses, rescued him from the pound. He was on his last day there. She then found our rescue and called us. He is being dropped off tonight.

Here is a picture of him, he reminds me of Harley.

« on: March 12, 2007, 12:42:58 pm »
I have been doing a lot of soul searching, and feeling like I am not doing as much with my life that I can be. I love DibbyDog Rescue and we have been helping lots of animals, but I still feel like I can be doing more.

So I am going to become and animal protection officer! WOOHOO.
