Behavior, Housebreaking, Obedience / Great website on Aggression
« on: February 21, 2007, 02:32:41 pm »
I know that quite of few of us are having aggression issues. While I was on the Edmonton Humane Society website, looking for a trainer, I found this website and it is really good.

Behavior, Housebreaking, Obedience / Need some advice/help
« on: February 20, 2007, 01:38:29 pm »
We have gone back to square one again with Remi. But maybe it was too soon to let him eat by himself. So now back to holding the bowl in our hands. Which went great this morning. But after he eats he holds his head in the air, then if we don't "snap" him out of it he starts to growl. This is the only time he shows any type of aggression. It took Tim 20 minutes to calm him down yesterday.
This morning he was fine but he isn't acting like himself, he seems like he is down in the dump, depressed? I just don't know what to do?

Here are some pictures that I took today of the 2 goofballs. Remi is such a ham, just like Harley. He loves the camera!

This last one was taken in the fall but I don't think I ever posted it.

It's nice I get to speak frech to him. (Living in an all english province I don't get to speak frech very often)We are working through some behavior problems. So I may be asking for some help.  :) But I am sure that we will be able to work through them.

Does anyone know of any airline that transports dogs from the states into Halifax Nova Scotia. I have tried 2 Delta and Continental. And they don't have pressurized (SP??) planes that fly into there. They fly to Toronto but because of the pet embargoe here in Canada there is no way for me to get Ash (Ash is the Weim that I adopted)from Toronto to Nova Scotia.  :'( Anyone know of any other airlines that I can call?

And she loves to cuddle, and flollows you where ever you go.  :) She is a wonderful dog.

Please PM me if you know of anyone that would like to adopt her.

Helpful Groups & Dogs in Need / DibbyDog has it's first rescue.
« on: December 02, 2006, 01:19:18 am »
Hey Dibbydog has it's first rescue. She is an 8 wk old siberian/Alaskan husky. (I haven't seen her yet we are picking her up today) Tim got an email from a friend, her daughter brought home the puppy from the pet store that gave it away for free. She has a heart murmur and they can't sell her.(GRRR puppy mills) (If she hadn't taken her they would have put her down) They can't keep her, they have 2 dogs, one is a rescue from the same store. The friend said the breeder won't take her back because he/she can't wait for her to grow out of the murmur. How can breeder not care for this puppy!  >:( Anyway we (Dibbydog)will take care of her and find her a good home. We are going to get our vet to check out the murmur, I am not going to take the breeders word, saying that she will grow out of it.
Anyone know anything about heart murmurs?

We are going to take Harley to see Santa at the mall tonight. It is for pets only, and all the money goes to the SPCA.  ;D I am going to bring my camera and post some pictures up tonight.

I enrolled in school to become a certified dog trainer. I can still work full time, I take all my exams online and I work one on one with a trainer, and I do my practicum at the SPCA here. WOOOHOOO  ;D I am very excited. One more step towards opening DibbyDog.
