Lots of snow here!!

My Angus has the same problem with itching. Many trips to the vet and multiple diet changes have not helped. He is currently on a vegetarian diet which is having no affect at all on controlling the itching. The vet just writes it off as environmental allergies and would like him to go on prednisone for the rest of his life and I do not want that. The probleme with Angus is not just the itching but he decides to chew himself up for relief and an outbreak of nasty hotspots follow. I've been to a few breeders as well and they think he has seborrhea and I treat him for that. In order to control the itching and chewing he gets a medicated bath every 2 weeks. In the beginning though, to control the flaky skin I had to give him a medicated bath every second day for a week, then once a week and I am currently at once every 2 weeks. It is plenty work but does control the itching. I get my medicated shampoo from a Newfoundland dog breeder / groomer so I will have to check with her for the brand as the ones I have bought at pet supply stores do not work.
Does your dog look like he has plenty of dandruff? Is it really oily? You may be dealing with the same thing I am.
Oh yea, Angus is a Newf as well.

i like the kitty one, too, but i do have to put in that it looks like you're in the pic too?  (look in the ornaments reflection)
You are right, my reflection is in the ornament.... I applied a blur to the reflection of me to make it harder to pick out, rather than taking it out all together!!

Had a slow day... so took some pictures of Angus :).

If your back was turned then there is no way to know why Lola was set off. Lola may have been nervous the whole while the GS was approching, and may have sent the GS calming signals that he/she ignored. Plus the GS walking straight at Lola could have been preceived as both threatening and stressful to Lola. And having a leash on, with no where to go there is only one signal left for Lola and that is defense!!

Sar, good question. When it starts snowing here I'll let you know  :D. I think a flash is a must if you want the snowflakes, no longer that a 1 or 2 sec shutter speed and a 200 or 400 iso. I think to get a picture throught the snow you'll have to focus manually or lock in the focus an eqaul distance away on something not in the snow and recompose. I only have the kit lens so I make do with whatever shots I can get!!

Beautiful picture Sar, Penny looks great. I find myself using the M about 90% of the time now. I'm using Adobe Lightroom (beta stage right now) to process and it is fantastic. For firefox users to see this picture bigger right click and go view image.
