German Shepherd Pictures / New GSD pup
« on: June 02, 2007, 09:05:59 am »
this is Archer, i picked her for my sister, this pup is from a german import that was sent to the states bred, titled on both ends up the wazoo with schutz and working titles, this is a promising young pup.
She is from our area, a training facility for Schutz, sells most of the pups to police officers for working dogs as in SAR also.
some go for pets.
my husband is pictured holding archer in the first foto.
he would love to be a K-9 unit but money doesnt allow for it in our state, the budgets have been cut so far down already.
anyway, just wanted to show off a non roached backed GSD.
i am sure she will FLOAT just fine without the roached back! LOL

I had a blast capturing different expressions from this pup!!

Breeding Questions & Information / One of my girls
« on: January 11, 2007, 09:27:17 am »
has been bred, if anyone ever knew what goes into this, it is mind boggling.
it is not just adding up the price per pup and saying that is profit, it is the progesterone testing done daily to every other day, the cytology, the office call price, than the price of collecting and shipping.
all in all by the time the Ai happens you have spent well over 2,000 and prolly more like 3,000 the deposit on stud fee wich is more now usually min of 500$
than there is the care of the female while preggy, the food and special attention to grooming etc...
the education of the people hoping to get a pup, time spent on the phone and thru email, and the time spent making sure the contract is up to date with your attorney.
than there is the time that goes into the actual birthing, no sleep sometimes for 48 hours, the tears and heartache that may happen during the time.
the emergency visit costs if a pup shows an angry umbilical cord, or some mishap or some pup maybe not as strong and needing vet care, there is the expense of care of mom, than there is the time that goes into the pups, endless hours, and exhausting days.
One of my friends assisted me with a litter and decided against breeding her girl and spayed her, after she saw everything that needs to be done.
she wanted to breed her but changed her mind.
i have another friend who is co owner of this mother to be, we are hoping, and she is going to assist me, and said this is gonna be a real eye opener? and i said yup! it will land your feet on the ground.
anyway, i just wanted everyone who has a breeder to have a good relationship withthem, utilize them as your lifetime COACH and listen to their lifetime experience, and the experience they can share is from tonns of research and networking.

Newfoundland Discussions / Cooking for the dogs for holidays
« on: December 07, 2006, 09:51:59 am »
so tonight i am making a few batches of doggie cookies.
my people whose names i have for the treat exchange on another board, better appreciate this! ROTFL!
i broke a spatula in the gooey mixture, so i went for the big gun, a metal hamburger flipper.
in the meantime, i have newfs laying on the kitchen floor, i am trying to step over them, and dance around them in the limited space i have.
when the cookies are in the oven, they are laying in front of it! oh my! i am sweating, how can they be comfy by that hot thang!
this is a lot of work, but well worth it i think!
they are my taste testers! hee hee

Newfoundland Pictures / Blizzard Fun
« on: December 01, 2006, 08:34:11 pm »
well it started early and dumped on us, and now the sun is out, it was very hard to get clear crisp foto due to the thickness of the snow and the blowing! but, i did manage to get one nice shot of sydney sitting looking forlornly like, "i dont wanna go in yet"
so they have been out all day, cept to come in for dinner, but they have the sno, pretty packed down in the yard!
This is rosie!

rosie between syd and lainey

more wrestling

There were times it was blowing so hard it had some white out apearances to the photos, such as smoke! That is when i used toilet paper to keep the camera body dry!

Newfoundland Pictures / A Penny for your Thoughts!
« on: November 12, 2006, 08:27:49 pm »
this is penny and this is the snow that is still leftover from the weekend! wow! it still is on the ground, and, the birds have eaten all the tallow in my feeders, time to refill those!
I am so happy i am using MANUAL focus! wow, the white in this photo, had i used auto, would be glaring white! i am so pleased that everyone on the foto site i hang on kept on me for using auto all the time, and, now i am finally getting the hang of this M setting!
the contrast is fabulous! and, i am still getting the catchlight in the eyes most of the time.
the photo program gad gave us for the raw shots is fabulous to!
it is great to be learning so much and to see improvement as you go along.
this is penny in the snow yesterday.

for once i dont see a devilish look on her face, or do i??
The only thing i am frustrated with is loss of clarity from the upload, other places i upload a downsized foto to , the clarity sticks, for some reason fototime has a bit of loss to it.

The three stooges, with the clown stooge in front with a stick!

The infamous woobie! poor ebony, sydney kept stealing it from her, and, it lost the squeek becouse it was so slimed up from him, he loved the dang toy!!!

Dont look at the overexposed white, but yeah!! i am so happy with the clarity!
